UK - Delta Live has made significant investments in cutting edge audio systems that have been deployed across some of the UK’s best-known live events and venues. The BBC Proms, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and London’s Roundhouse are all beneficiaries of the company’s investment in 2025, which has seen a range of new equipment, audio systems and vital infrastructure deployed across the venues.

In May this year, Delta Live renewed its partnership with the Roundhouse in Camden to be its exclusive audio solutions supplier, and has since been overhauling the venue’s digital infrastructure, cabling, rack infrastructure, SD racks, bit cards, and PA and control systems. Key additions include two DiGiCo Quantum 326 digital mixing consoles, an L-Acoustics A-Series ground package, enhanced PA boxes, and a new microphone package that includes th

USA - Situated in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Christ the King was initiated in 1981 as a Catholic ‘Charismatic Renewal’ church. Its current church building was dedicated in 2001 - and although it may be fairly new by church standards, the church was still operating off its original sound system, which was struggling to provide even coverage across three naves, fanning out from a central space.

“While they had some good seats, some were not so good in terms of coverage, and that was their main impetus for the upgrade,” stated Steve Newby, founder of family-owned AV systems integrator Annunciation Audio-Visual Services, who won a three-way competitive bid.

“While we’ve replaced the electronics a couple of times, and the operators were doing a fantastic job making it sound as good as possible, there was no getting away from the fact that an upgrade

UK - Football and art, though often seemingly worlds apart, share a deep connection – evoking human expression and emotion. Artist Ryan Gander sought to explore how the integration of technology could combine art and football to create a playful exhibition at this year’s Manchester International Festival (MIF).

Collaborating with Naostage, Gander was one of six artists to work with football stars – including Manchester United’s Eric Cantona, Lioness Ella Toone, and Edgar Davids – to create Football City, Art United, an interactive group exhibition conceived by World Cup and Champions League winner Juan Mata.

Using Naostage’s K System, Privileges of Hindsight 2025 allowed a spotlight to dynamically track visitors throughout the gallery, creating an interactive, ever-changing experience. This gave visitors the a

Italy - On 13 September, Rome’s Vatican City hosted Grace for the World, the first music concert held in St. Peter’s Square, reportedly drawing more than a quarter of a million people to the venerable plaza.

The event, which was accompanied by a spectacular drone show above the Sistine Chapel, concluded the World Meeting on Human Fraternity 2025, a two-day gathering that brought together people from around the globe to reflect on humanity in an age defined by social and environmental challenges, as well as rapid technological progress.

Also streamed live on Disney+, Hulu, and ABC, a massive worldwide audience tuned in to witness musical messages delivered by a lineup, including co-directors Andrea Bocelli and Pharrell Williams, along with John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Jelly Roll, Karol G, and others. USA - Last year, to mark their 54th anniversary, The Doobie Brothers surprised the music industry by breaking new ground on the uplifting Walk This Road album, their first recording ever that featured both Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald.  (The two had recorded with the group at different points in the past, but never together.)

This embrace of the new carried over to Seth Jackson’s production design for the successful national tour that has been supporting the album this summer and fall. Breaking with traditional expectations, the show supported the Doobie Brother’s performance with a vibrant new storytelling design that included no beams.

Jackson explained the inspiration behind the creative process. “Since this show is supporting the first recording with Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald, we wanted something out of the ordinary.

USA - Lighting designer Marc Janowitz has enjoyed utilising Robe’s T2 Profile luminaire on several recent projects, including Trey Anastasio’s 2025 solo acoustic tour and two high-profile HBO specials – Brett Goldstein's The Second Best Night of Your Life debut stand-up special at the Bergen PAC (Performing Arts Centre) in New Jersey, and Marc Maron’s Panicked, which was staged at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM)’s Harvey Theatre.

“This is a fantastic and highly adaptable light source. It is perfectly suited for camera and broadcast environments and also for subtle theatrical-style drama and effects,” stated Marc.

Lighting for all three of these shows was supplied by Main Light – via account handler Patrick Bellino – and the company has recently invested in the T2 Profiles, which were delivered by Robe North Ame

Ireland - Originally constructed in the 16th century as a fortress to protect Cork Harbour, Blackrock Castle has undergone numerous transformations. Destroyed by fire in the 19th century, it was rebuilt for the city before entering private hands and becoming variously, a private residence, offices, rowing club HQ, and a restaurant. Reacquired by Cork Corporation in 2001, the building was renovated and repurposed as an observatory and museum under a joint venture between the City Council, Cork Institute of Technology, and a private benefactor.

Since opening in 2007 as a centre for scientific research, outreach and communication, the observatory, which houses an interactive astronomy centre open to the public, has welcomed more than 1.4m visitors. Earlier this year, the facility was closed to allow the upgrading of its technological provision, to better serve

USA - When Stonegate Church in Texas set out to expand its campus, audio was a central part of the vision. They wanted a sound system that could deliver power and clarity across multiple spaces: from an intimate chapel to a massive outdoor lawn with sports courts and student hangouts. All while remaining visually unobtrusive.

“Stonegate is our church,” Aaron Ingersoll, owner of First Class Productions, explains. “We wanted to do it right for them.”

The design process began in the chapel, where the church emphasised an organic aesthetic. The main focal point of the room was a brick wall, once part of an outdoor patio before the expansion. The leadership wanted the audio to be big and immersive, but the speakers had to disappear into the space.

First Class Productions chose a mix of 1 Sound Cannon C5s, C8s, and WSUB45i wall subs, mounte

Austria - Linzer Klangwolke, a large open-air multimedia event, has been running annually in the city of Linz since 1979. On 6 September this year it again attracted nearly 100,000 visitors to the Donaupark. Titled Urban Pulse, this year’s edition translated the city’s heartbeat into captivating images and beats – a visually staged concert that harked back to Klangwolke’s roots all those years ago and placed sound itself at the centre. Manfred Nikitser was again responsible for the lighting design, incorporating over 100 weatherproof fixtures from GLP.

The musical foundation for this performance was a multi-part work by the Upper Austrian composer Johannes Berauer, performed by the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and enhanced live by the internationally renowned multi-percussionist Christoph Sietzen, who lives in Linz.

Namibia – Maerua Mall, located in Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, underwent a major renovation and expansion at the end of 2024, introducing a host of new retail, dining, and entertainment facilities. Three of the mall’s newly opened restaurants – Bossa, Ocean Basket, and Galito’s - turned to Stage Audio Works (SAW) Namibia to design, supply, and install sound systems tailored to their needs.

Each restaurant required user-friendly control, clarity and coverage throughout the venue. “From the outset, we were given complete freedom to design a comprehensive system,” says Joppie Maritz, managing director at SAW Namibia. “Our goal was to deliver a system that is easy to navigate and would provide high-quality audio.”

As some restaurants are located outside of the mall, background music needed to be loud enough to mask the noise of the st

France - ETC’s automated fixture Lonestar was selected to light up the French ‘President of the Republic’ Emmanuel Macron during his speech at the Louvre Museum earlier this year.

The President’s team sought advanced lighting fixtures that could deliver consistently high-quality, reliable output across a wide range of environments for upcoming presidential events.

It was at the annual JTSE tradeshow in Paris where a member of the Élysée Palace team (the official residence of the President of France) discovered Lonestar at ETC France’s stand.

The High End Systems Lonestar offered advantages that were hard to ignore by the team: bright output given its very small footprint, and its quiet operation.

After a thorough phase of testing and research, the Elysée Palace team chose and ordered six Lonestar fixtures from ETC which w

USA - After 60 years of recording and touring, The Who have been taking a final bow with their North American Farewell Tour. From mid-August to early October 2025, the band performed across Canada and the United States for 18 shows. In charge of the video technical design for this last tour, Canadian company Monochrome Project selected Modulo Pi’s Modulo Kinetic media server solution to power the show.

“Everything has worked perfectly,” says Louis Buxin, innovation director and media server specialist at Monochrome Project. The scenography relies on a central ROE LED wall positioned upstage, measuring 15 x 6m with a resolution of 2,496 x 1,040 pixels. This main screen is complemented by two side LED walls, each approximately 7.5 x 4m.

Depending on the equipment available in each venue, the side walls are sometimes replaced with a video

UK - The Regent Centre is a 505-seat cinema and theatre that sits in the heart of Christchurch, Dorset. Having first opened its doors back in 1931, it still thrives today as a non-profit, multi-purpose venue with live music, comedy and community performance shows which help bring in over 100,000 visitors every year.

Following a mechanical inspection, it was decided that the venue required both a replacement of its auditorium chain hoist system as well as a new wing-masking system with curtain tracks and drapes – with all of this work being carried out by Solutions On Stage.

Solutions On Stage were first contacted by the Regent Centre’s technical manager Scott Gurd, who comments: “I was on the lookout for a new technical inspection company as I wanted to ensure that our performance space was as safe and technically efficient as possible. Solutio

India - Mumbai, India’s most populous city and financial capital, is currently undergoing significant redevelopment. In Bhendi Bazaar in particular, the expansive Saifee Burhani Upliftment Project is transforming the area into a modern and vibrant metropolis. A significant part of the ongoing project has been the renovation of the area’s Saifee Masjid.

Originally built in the early 20th century, the Masjid soon became the community’s primary place of worship. After almost 100 years of service, the building underwent significant reconstruction before reopening in September 2023. The updated structure blends architectural heritage with innovation, along with an audio-visual system to reflect the needs of modern-day worshippers. 12 Renkus-Heinz Iconyx Compact ICC12/3 loudspeakers were chosen as an integral part of this soundscape.

USA - Back in 2020, the Newport Folk Festival introduced a bike powered stage, following the organisers’ desire to incorporate bicycles into the festival experience and provide an alternative power source for performances.

Masterminding this was Illiterate Light, a two-piece rock band from Virginia who had first experimented with the idea of carrying a simple sound system powered by bike, after setting up in 2015.

Eric Shy took over production manager duties as the tech scaled up, and the idea really took root after the band played the Quad Stage at the 2019 Newport Folk festival where 2000-plus bikes commuted to the festival. The festival loved the idea of bike-powered performance and invited Illiterate Light back in 2020 to become a full-blown stage at the festival (which has persisted to this day).

Spain - On the roof terrace of the boutique hotel Monsuau in Cala D'Or, Mallorca, guests can enjoy cocktails at sunset, listen to DJ sets and experience live shows – with a completely new sound and lighting system.

The installation service provider responsible for the new system, Sonomusic, developed a customised system based on solutions from LD Systems and Cameo. The audio and lighting setup is managed and controlled via the QUESTRA design and management software from LD Systems.

The requirements for the audio system were an appealing design to match the look of the rooftop bar, and even sound coverage without disturbing the hotel rooms below or neighbouring residential buildings. “By using the compact LD Systems MAUI i1 column loudspeakers and DQOR SUB 8 subwoofers, we found an optimal solution for this challenge,” explains Andreu Femenias,

The Netherlands - For nearly three decades, Stadsschouwburg De Harmonie has drawn audiences from across Leeuwarden and beyond, welcoming audiences with performances ranging from intimate theatrical performances to high-energy concerts. Opened in January 1995 as a modern successor to the original Harmonie theatre, this multifunctional venue houses three auditoriums, with the versatile 458-seat Rabozaal serving as the venue’s flagship space that can seamlessly transform to accommodate up to 850 standing guests for live music events.

The venue recently completed a comprehensive audio upgrade, installing a new L-Acoustics L Series professional sound system that elevates both the technical capabilities and audience experience across the hall's wide-ranging programme of events.

"The resulting system delivers the audio experience that modern audiences exp

The Netherlands - DI-RECT entertained 50,000-plus fans at De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam for three nights this summer, as the band from The Hauge celebrated a quarter century of making music.

The show started with a soft, gentle mood, with lead vocalist Marcel Veenendaal and guitarist Frans ‘Spike’ van Zoest performing on a diamond-shaped 360-stage. The show then moved to a full (non-360 stage), as the show amped up to included more symphonic parts with an orchestra on tiered risers backing the band, as well as a full-fledged rock show vibe with two towering video walls and beefy lighting rig.

Running this production on five ChamSys MagicQ MQ500M Stadium consoles were Leon Driessen and his team at LD Company. Three of those consoles were used during previz - one for controlling a Disguise GX3 server for video, the two others for controlling lights

UK - Located in Highgate, London, the L-Acoustics showroom relies on Van Damme cabling to support the required audio, video and lighting.

“The product hybrids needed a flexible infrastructure,” explains Kevin Groom, application engineer of Showroom Solutions and one of the key players behind creating the space. “Any activity - cinema, fashion show, ballet or performance - had to work in the room. We designed it so that every conceivable use case could be supported without retrofitting.” That meant building a comprehensive network of connection points across two rooms, allowing equipment to be plugged in wherever needed while ensuring zero signal loss.

Futureproofing was also crucial, as Groom notes: “We had to plan for products we didn’t even know about yet. For example, the DJ decks we can now roll in and plug directly into the central r

Lithuania - Hip-hop duo Lilas ir Innomine returned to the capital city Vilnius for a ‘career-defining’ performance at the Vingis Park Amphitheater, with a visual design driven by Green Hippo Hippotizer Media Servers.

The group - comprised of Konstantinas Kiveris-Lilas and Rolandas Venckys-Innomine - took the stage for the first time in five years, supported by visuals from design and production studio Marfa Lights. The team created an immersive video experience while working closely with the lighting crew, programming both visuals and video content in-house.

“We wanted the video elements to complement the lighting design without being overpowering, keeping the visuals abstract and gritty,” said Pijus Norušis of Marfa Lights. “Hippotizer’s internal effects and generators were perfect for manipulating pre-made content and IMAG feeds, while

UK - White Light once again supported Gilded Balloon at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, delivering full lighting and rigging across 18 venues in celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary.

As one of the festival’s ‘Big Four’, Gilded Balloon transformed university buildings and cultural spaces into vibrant performance venues. With Teviot Row House undergoing refurbishment, the 2025 programme spanned Adam House, Applegate Tower, and the National Museum of Scotland; each presenting technical challenges for WL.

“Working with Gilded Balloon is always a rewarding experience,” said Dan Last, WL’s key account manager. “Their ambition and adaptability push us to innovate, and this year was no exception. From custom truss structures to advanced LED rigs, we tailored each solution to meet the demands of the space and the vis
