UK - The birthplace of Queen Elizabeth II and named in honour of the young Queen’s childhood nickname, Lilibet’s, at No.17 Bruton Street in London, features ‘a refined menu of seafood and an equally elegant interior’.

Tateside were responsible for the design and implementation of a complete background audio system based on K-array’s Vyper family of loudspeakers. Lilibet’s is just one of more than a dozen high-end hospitality spaces in this neighbourhood that trust in K-array’s audio solutions.

“Working in collaboration with the consultant and local distributors 2BHeard, the scope was to design and install an elegant, yet discreet, distributed background audio system that would respect the prestigious nature of the venue,” says Joby Morris, project manager at Tateside. “The design did not require high SPL DJ playback, like somethin

USA - Bethlehem Baptist Church, located in Greensburg, Kentucky, is a small, rural Christian congregation in a community where faith and tradition hold deep significance. A modest, brick building with a steeple, its interior is reflective of a traditional Baptist style, with pews arranged in rows facing the pulpit. Although open and airy, the parishioners struggled to hear and understand the sermon at times. Amplifiers from LEA Professional were the chosen solution to increase headroom during musical worship and provide better intelligibility for spoken liturgy.

Church staff contacted Alex Peake, a project manager at JCA Media, to design a new audio system for the sanctuary. He recommended the Connect Series to meet the church's goal of high intelligibility.

“Most amplifiers are being commoditised and sold at almost the same price,” said Alex Pea

UK - STLS was commissioned by Epsom & Ewell Borough Council along with The Epsom Playhouse, a much-loved theatre in Surrey, to modernise its house lighting system, upgrade the existing dimmer room, and install new lighting fixtures across the auditorium. The project aimed to improve lighting quality and energy efficiency, and create a cleaner, more integrated control environment that would serve the venue for years to come.

The scope of work included the design, supply, installation, programming, and testing of a complete new lighting and control system. The goal was to deliver a modern, flexible, and efficient setup that met the demands of both day-to-day operations and high-profile live performances, all while respecting the character and functionality of the venue.

The installation came with several logistical challenges. The venue is only clo

UK - The newly restored Soho Theatre Walthamstow has opened its doors with a JBL VTX A Series sound system, marking the culmination of a journey from dereliction to world-class entertainment venue. The 960-seat theatre, housed in the restored 1930s former Granada Cinema, represents one of London's most significant cultural restoration projects.

Soho Theatre Walthamstow occupies a building steeped in entertainment history. Originally opened in 1930 as the Granada Cinema, the venue was designed by architect Cecil Masey with Moorish-influenced interiors by Theodore Komisarjevsky, inspired by the Alhambra Palace in Granada. During its golden era from the 1950s to 1970s, the venue hosted performers including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Dusty Springfield, Roy Orbison, and Duke Ellington.

After closing as a cinema in 2003, the Grade II* listed building

UK - Butlin’s recently commissioned advance sound system upgrades at its facilities in Skegness and Bognor Regis.

Since Butlin’s entertainment mix now extends far beyond its origins as a ‘holiday camp’ destination - today ranging from Big Weekenders to conferences and events - head of technical entertainment, Andrew Sugg, recognised that its development should be matched with professional audio. He turned to his regular contractor, Robin Shephard-Blandy of Illuminate Design for advice. The outcome was an advanced and scalable Martin Audio Wavefront Precision WPC line array in each of its 1200-plus capacity Centre Stage venues.

Butlin’s are no strangers to the British loudspeaker brand. “We’ve been using Martin Audio systems for probably 20-plus years,” says Sugg. Certainly the old sound system at Centre Stage

USA - To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Holland Centre for the Performing Arts, Omaha Performing Arts recently undertook a major capital upgrade to modernise the venue’s lighting system. For this milestone project, the venue turned to longtime local partner Theatrical Media Services (TMS) to design and integrate a lighting solution that would ‘honour the space’s acoustic and aesthetic sensitivities while bringing its technology into a new era’.

The venue’s previous lighting rig, which combined conventional ellipsoidal fixtures with early-generation LEDs, was beginning to show its age, both in colour output and flexibility. Driven largely by the acoustical considerations for the Omaha Symphony, Holland Centre’s primary resident, the TMS team knew the updated lighting system had to operate silently while still providing impactful visual effe

UK - Striking the right ambience is a fundamental part of the character of Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge. Created in 1957 by former Tate Gallery Assistant Jim Ede and his wife Helen, Kettle’s Yard was not just a home for the couple, but an open space for the public to enjoy contemporary art in an informal, domestic setting.

Almost 70 years later and that ethos still exists, so when a spatial audio component was required for a new exhibition by Lubaina Himid and Magda Stawarska, it was important to get the aesthetics right. The artists in question subsequently commissioned specialist integrator ArtAV to assist in creating an environment that worked with the space rather than against it, with the installation of four specially customised Genelec 4420 monitors.

The house at Kettle’s Yard still displays a permanent collection of artworks and was exten

France - Marc Brissonnet, technical director of the L’Eden multi-performance venue, led the way in the initiative to convert it to an all-LED system, inaugurated in 2018 by the City of Saint-Jean-d’Angély. The actual process started in late 2024 when the theatre installed eight Ovation Rêve E-3 colour rendering ellipsoidal fixtures, and 10 Ovation Rêve F-3 colour rendering Fresnels from Chauvet Professional.

As a multi-disciplinary house, the performance venue hosts a wide variety of productions, and Marc acknowledges that initially some touring companies were hesitant to perform under LED lights.

“Some companies came in with preconceived notions - concerns about colour rendering, intensity, or beam quality,” said Marc. “But once they saw what the Rêve units could do, most of those doubts disappeared. LED technology has come a long way,

UK - New York design group Yellow Studio unveiled its newest large-scale installation Within Water, at the 2025 River of Light Festival in Liverpool. Taking place from 24 October to 2 November, the festival transformed the city’s waterfront into a walking trail of illuminated artworks and installations by national and international artists. Yellow Studio’s installation for this year’s edition is inspired by bioluminescence, exploring the relationship between water, light and human interaction.

Commissioned by Culture Liverpool, this year's installation was inspired by the festival's theme The Science of Light. Through a grid of programmable lights embedded beneath the water’s surface, the installation mimics the gentle glow and movement of bioluminescent algae, creating an illuminated current that shifts in colour and inten
