UAE - Assistive listening manufacturer, Contacta, has supplied more than 500 of its hearing loop systems for a major project to enhance hearing accessibility at Dubai International (DXB). The 520 systems have been installed throughout the airport's three terminals by Contacta's regional GCC partner, Topland.

Work on the project has been ongoing since 2023 and forms part of the airport’s ambition to ensure that every passenger experiences accessible and inclusive travel. It is also in line with Dubai’s Universal Design Code which aims to ensure buildings and transportation are accessible to everyone according to their need.

USA - Bespoke Technology Group and audio manufacturer 1 Sound have collaborated to bring a striking sound system to Evelyn, a newly opened steakhouse and lounge in Dallas’ Design District. Inspired by Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, the venue features seven different rooms, each with its own distinct atmosphere.

UK - Drawing an international audience, PLASA Show 2025 transformed Olympia London’s Grand Hall into a hub of live entertainment technology from 7-9 September. Welcoming over 30 new exhibitors, and with a focus on sustainability, skills and the people behind entertainment technology, this year’s show welcomed a 2.6% increase in overall attendance despite severe train strikes that challenged travel across the capital. 

The surge in international visitors and the record number of students in attendance highlight how the industry continues to broaden its horizons and attract fresh talent, says the show’s organiser.

USA - Philadelphia-based One Source Productions provided the sound for the Tipper & Friends gathering at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State over Independence Day weekend. The event brought together thousands of fans for a multi-day celebration of music at one of the United States’ best known outdoor venues.

Known for its dramatic elevation, sweeping vistas and unpredictable winds, The Gorge challenges even the most experienced production teams. UK - Since relocating its hi-tech studio in Bath closer to Bristol, Distiller Music has taken the opportunity to develop a spatial environment, building on the legacy of its historic use of Martin Audio speakers.

As the former Distillery I space has made way for the new upgraded Distillery II - a fully-rigged, adaptive environment for rehearsal, recording, performance and production - it has added Martin Audio CDD-LIVE 8 to the pre-existing Torus PA rig, processed through an Airsound spatial system.

Brazil - The Festa do Peão de Barretos (Cowboy Festival of Barretos) is the largest rodeo in the southern hemisphere and one of Brazil’s best-known live events. Held annually in Barretos, São Paulo, and organised by the local social club Os Independentes, the festival attracts close to one million visitors every year. Alongside its rodeo competitions, the event has established itself as a major music destination, with concerts drawing up to 80,000 fans inside the Barretos Arena.

When staging the intimate production, Day knew he would need to capture the nuanced dynamics of operatic vocals and orchestral richness.
