China - APG North East Asia has announced completion of its first Uniline house of worship installation in China. Situated in Shantou, the 3,000 capacity Shantou Sheng Ming Tang church is one of the biggest in the Guangdong province.

The project was carried out by MPHK Group Ltd, the Hong Kong based APG dealer, who installed the entire sound system as well as HD video and LED stage lighting solutions. The project was completed in just a month, from system design to implementation.

"The main acoustical challenge was to overcome the unwanted resonance due to the size of the church," remembers APG North and Eastern Asia managing director Raymond Wong. "Its high ceilings and the presence of two corridors on each side of the room were challenging as they created unwanted resonance. Because the Uniline range is easily controllable, we knew we would easily overcome those challeng

USA - Professional Wireless Systems, a subsidiary of Masque Sound, has purchased the first two newly-released Bel Digital BM-A1-64DANTE monitoring units for their latest music awards show in Miami, Florida.

Jim Van Winkle, general manager of PWS, says, "We had an analogue monitoring system, but it required us to either put a splitter in line or get a return feed from the main show splitter. We had been looking for a way to monitor through Dante and we decided this box would be a good solution.

"We recently deployed the Bel monitors for the first time and everybody picked it up pretty quickly...we're very happy with it. We used both of our units on a recent Latin music awards show - one at the mic racks backstage for the lead RF engineer, and one on stage where the RF A2 can check a mic before handing it off to the talent."

USA - The University of Arkansas Razorbacks basketball team recently benefited from a new EAW sound reinforcement system installed for 2015-16 season. The existing system at the 19,200-seat venue was more than 20 years old and in need of replacement. European Guidance - National Campaign for the Arts has launched a guidance document about the sector and its relationship to the European Union. Chair Samuel West said he hoped it would "stimulate debate and encourage deeper thinking". It comes as Arts Council England has also published guidance outlining how funding for the arts can be connected to the European Union.

NCA's document covers areas including funding, artistic exchange and export, and talent development. Because of its charitable status, it cannot express a view on whether the UK remains in the EU or leaves.

But West said, "We do think there are questions that need to be considered carefully by those who care about the arts. China - The 1500-capacity Tangshan Grand Theatre, situated within Tangshan's World Park Expo in China's Hebei Province, has installed a TiMax SoundHub-S32 audio showcontrol and spatial sound processor, whose first job was to bring a historic war drama very boldly to life.

The production required dynamic surround sound effects of the cacophony of war, including thunder and rain alongside the bullets, bombers and explosions.
