Serbia - The first Avolites D7-330 and D7-215 consoles have arrived in the Balkans region – received by Belgrade-based Avolites distributor, Light & Sound Design (LSD) – where they will be in action with the team led by Milan Scepanovic.

LSD proactively distributes the full range of Robe Group brands – Anolis, Artistic Licence, LSC, and of Avo – across all the Balkans countries (Serbia, Bosnia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania) and the Robe brand itself in Serbia, Bosnia, North Macedonia and Montenegro.

LSD’s CEO Milan Scepanovic says, “It is great to have the first D7 models – to my knowledge – in the whole of southeast Europe. The consoles are powerful, flexible and portable and they look very cool. Given the general presence of Avolites here in the region, I think there will be plenty of interest in the D7 and we will be

France - A new Robe moving light rig has been installed in the 800-capacity Liquid Lounge main theatre space aboard the Carnival Sunshine cruise ship, which stages a host of large-scale production shows, themed performances, and other entertainment events. This was undertaken during an extensive refurbishment of the vessel whilst in dry dock at the Chantier Naval de Marseille in Marseilles, France, earlier this year.

The lighting upgrade included the installation of 84 Robe moving lights – 40 x Painte Spots, 34 x LEDBeam 350s and 10 Fortes – into the venue and was overseen by the Carnival Cruise line fleet supervisor for lighting, Silviu Ardelean, and Carnival’s entertainment manager for lighting Alex Nelson. The project was coordinated for Robe’s Maritime division by global sales director for maritime, Tony Perez.

UK - An impressive collection of ChamSys consoles were deployed at Glastonbury 2025, handling all the demands made by a five-day festival spread across 900 acres, yet powerful, flexible and intuitive enough to help LDs conjure up some memorable moments.

At the head of the pack was the MagicQ MQ500M+ Stadium Console, flagship of the ChamSys line that directly supports 400 universes without external processors and offers fully motorized faders and encoders with 42 playbacks.  Its potent features were put to use at the Woodsies Stage where Ed Warren powered shows by Four Tet and Lola Young with consoles supplied by LCR. Joe Beardsmore brought one of his own MagicQ MQ500M+ Stadium consoles to cast an immersive mood for Tom Odell at the stage provided by Siyan and a floor package from Coloursound Experiment.

Spain - Located in the city’s Raval district, The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) hosts exhibitions, debates, festivals, concerts, film cycles, courses and lectures around the core themes of the city and urban culture.

The CCCB features a variety of event, hospitality and learning venues including the Hall, a 730sq.m space with a capacity of around 400 people.

A recent public tender for a new sound system in the Hall required that it should be powerful and versatile enough to accommodate all types of performances without the need to hire in supplementary equipment. The contract was awarded to Barcelona-based event technology specialists Imesde who installed a Nexo system.

“The original tender specified a line array system from another manufacturer but, working with Nexo’s NS-1 system configuration and prediction sof

USA - Walk through the front doors of Telemundo Centre in Miami, and the sound of JBL is everywhere. Literally. From the glass-walled atrium to the broadcast control rooms, post-production suites, and live event spaces, NBCUniversal’s Spanish-language division has built an expansive audio environment around JBL Professional’s end-to-end loudspeaker ecosystem.

That integration begins in the building’s most acoustically challenging space: the atrium. A visually striking but highly reflective all-glass venue used for premieres, town halls, and client events, the atrium required a solution that could deliver clarity without overwhelming the space.

“When coming into this project, we had to look at minimising energy in the space as it is all glass and very live,” said Robert Acito of Acoutech, the audio contractor for the installation. “We were

UK - Chauvet Professional had a strong presence at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

A newcomer to the Chauvet Professional family, the Strike V, a high-powered 180° tilting hybrid strobe/wash, was at the centre of one of Glastonbury’s highlights: the headliner performance on the Other Stage by The Prodigy. Fuelling the intensity of their music was a no-holds-barred lighting design by Tim Fawkes that drew heavily on the dual layered pixel effects of his Strike V fixtures, which were supplied by 4Wall Entertainment.

In addition to The Prodigy’s show, Chauvet Professional made its presence felt at the Opening Ceremony Circus Spectacular in the Pyramid Arena, as the Maverick Storm 1 Beam and Ovation Rêve E-3 IP from GLX produced stunning visuals.  For the final act of the festival on the same stage, COLORado PXL Curve 12s added an extra dimensi

Germany - The AStA Summer Festival in Paderborn has been attracting up to 14,000 music fans to the western German city’s university campus every year since 1998.

One of the oldest and largest student-organised festivals in the country, this year’s event which took place on 5 June had something for everybody from German rap, pop and indie to rock and techno, with established headliners including Zartmann, Blond and Ikkimel in the line-up alongside student performers and regional bands.

Paderborn-based event production specialists Sound Linear supplied sound for the event deploying their Nexo STM inventory on the mainstage in a system comprising main left and right hangs of nine STM M46 main modules and six STM M28 down fills, supplemented by adjacent hangs of B112 bass extension modules.

Six cardioid pairs of STM S118 subs were gr

UK - Choosing Glastonbury Festival for their only live performance of the year, Friday headline band The 1975 relied heavily on their long-standing production designer Tobias Rylander and his team, to bring something special out of the Pyramid stage by way of high-octane visual impact.

Rylander, who has worked with the band for the past 15 years, designing “pretty much every live show they’ve ever done”, is noted for his ability to use video as a lighting tool. But for his ‘one-off’ Glastonbury design, thanks to GLP’s next generation JDC2 IP hybrid, he realised he could also convert lighting into powerful striations of video, bathing the band’s loyal fans in rich colour imagery. He was able to do this by deploying 211 of the super-bright fixtures - the biggest single consignment of JDC2 IP ever.

USA - Thunderous sounds of the crowd greet every eventgoer at Portland’s fabled Providence Park. Completed in 1926, Providence Park is the oldest facility configured as a soccer-specific stadium for use by an MLS team and is one of the most historic grounds used by any United States professional soccer team.

Two professional soccer teams, the Portland Timbers of MLS and Portland Thorns FC of NWSL, use the facility as their home pitch, and both clubs rank among the top ten in attendance among professional soccer teams (men's or women's) in the United States and Canada.

The facility has undergone several recent renovations to expand its seating capacity to over 25,000, with associated infrastructure and AV upgrades. As expected with any MLS stadium, cameras abound around the stadium to catch the action from several simultaneous angles. The AV feeds a

Faroe Islands - Relocating to a refurbished commercial bakery in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, Burn Fitness wanted to raise its audio game with a proven solution for its Spinning Room. With sound quality essential, the fitness centre owners selected AV integrator, AVLux. The brief was to deliver an audio solution with a simple user experience for the spinning instructors, in addition to energy and atmosphere in the room. AVLux chose the Optimal Audio ecosystem for its balance of quality, ease of control, and cost-effectiveness.

Adopting the old bakery’s original layout, the fitness machines dominate what was the storage room, the hand equipment occupies the old oven room whilst the spinning room utilises an adjoining space. The compact room features a low roof at the front – where the instructors' platform and the video screen are positioned – that slopes

USA - Braxtin Pieper went through an array of different looks to support the freewheeling music of Shane Smith & The Saints when the band appeared at Red Rocks Amphitheatre recently. Moving seamlessly from soft monochromatic colour washes, accented by a touch of fog, to intense strobing effects and blinders, he utilised every inch of his rig in different ways, depending on the mood of the music in the 30-song set.

At least one thing was consistent though, throughout the concert, the sandstone rock formation behind the stage was always there enhancing his design.

“I have to appreciate the venue,” Pieper said of Red Rocks. “The upstage rocks are such a key part of the red rocks design. I love the tungsten backlight, but also the element of lighting the ‘trees,’ or the rocks for this show, gave it another level of colour that I strive to h

Germany - From 12-15 June 2025, the German Tolkien Society hosted a four-day festival in Geldern am Niederrhein. A total of 14,000 Tolkien fans and fantasy enthusiasts enjoyed a varied programme, including a concert evening featuring diverse artists and ensembles.

Technical audio production was expertly handled by Rockline Sound&Light from Issum, who deployed an extensively scaled Wharfedale Pro system to cover the broad musical programme.

The demands on the system were considerable. Initially, the Wharfedale Pro system needed to cleanly amplify classical ensembles with diverse acoustic instruments to various vocal performances. Later in the evening, volume and power were crucial for the headline performance.

The medieval metal band Feuerschwanz delivered an energetic set featuring a pyro and fire show. The Wharfedale Pro system provided

Uzbekistan - Sevara Nazarkhan stands as Uzbekistan's most internationally recognised musical artist, known for blending traditional Uzbek music with contemporary arrangements and for collaborating with artists like Peter Gabriel and Sinéad O’Connor. Her solo concerts at the 12,500-capacity Humo Arena drew audiences from across Central Asia, with all three performances reaching full capacity. The artist's intricate vocal arrangements and diverse instrumentation - from traditional Uzbek instruments to modern orchestration - demanded a sound system capable of reproducing every musical detail with precision and clarity.

Technical production company Yastreb-Sound became the region's first L Series partner with their L2 acquisition, and the concerts marked the system's first major deployment. The partnership was facilitated by L-Acoustics certified provider dis

UK - Sam Tozer, lighting designer and creative director of Plymouth-based Vision Factory, created the lighting for the Chase & Status Live Tour using a combination of Ayrton’s Domino LT and, taking centre upstage, over 100 Ayrton Rivale Profiles. “Ayrton is one of my go-to manufacturers,” says Tozer. “Their fixture range consistently delivers when it comes to reliability, feature set, and output. I’ve used their products across multiple projects.”

For this run of six exclusive arena shows across major UK cities, Tozer needed a lightweight yet punchy hybrid fixture to meet the demands of Chase & Status’s eclectic sound: “The Rivale Profile offered speed, beam strength, and versatility to create dynamic layers of light and texture throughout the show acting as the backbone of the rig and matching the energy of the band,” he says.

Germany - A colourful London bus is making its last stop for the time being in Neu-Anspach near Frankfurt. To mark the 50th anniversary of the Adam Hall Group, the restored tour bus of Paul McCartney and his band Wings has been presented to the public for the first time on the company’s campus.

The psychedelically painted double-decker bus in which the band toured Europe in 1972 will in future be on display as part of the company’s own Rock‘n’Roll Library in the Experience Centre at the Adam Hall Group’s German headquarters – and is symbolic of the company’s anniversary claim, namely: “Honouring the past, driving the future.”

The tour bus – a Bristol KSW5G, built in 1953 – was specially converted in 1972 for the European tour of Paul McCartney’s new band Wings. Instead of travelling by plane as usual, McCartney opted for a dou

Created entirely within Smode, Sensitive Abstraction transforms abstract mathematical principles such as the Fibonacci sequence and Euclidean grids into flowing visual tableaux, synchronised in real time with Flore’s score in spatial audio.

Yannick Moréteau, founder of the arts collective WSK, developed and runs the entire performance using a single Smode media server, from the creation of the

USA - In support of their seventh hit album Clancy, Twenty One Pilots launched their most expansive tour yet: a 73-date, four-continent tour that debuted in Denver last August and continued through Oceania and Central and South America, before finishing this spring in Europe. To best support The Clancy World Tour, all facets of production, particularly the audio system, needed to align with the artists’ cinematic vision. Cohesion was the chosen PA for the tour.

The Clancy World Tour was designed to electrify the senses by incorporating a massive number of visuals, pyro, cryo, lasers, and a consistent, robust PA in Cohesion that would deliver sonic impact every night.

USA - Matthieu Larivée and the team at Lüz Studio designed the production for Rascal Flatts' 21-city Life is a Highway Tour, which ran for three months this year in North America.

The tour covered the multi-award-winning band's 25-year career, one that has resulted in 16 No. 1 hits and over 11m concert tickets sold. When discussing the best ways to reflect the band's far-reaching achievements, the Lüz team took a slight step back from the immersive 3D video elements that characterise many of their designs and leaned more heavily on light.

"Given the nature of this retrospective tour and the band's rich history, we focused on lighting, which is timeless," said Larivée. "Their catalogue has some ballads, which need gobos or very subtle lighting chases; power ballads, which need powerful lighting swaps; and rock ‘n’ roll songs, which ne
