UK - Broadweigh’s wireless load monitoring technology played a key role in ensuring rigging safety on Lana Del Rey’s UK tour dates this summer. Partnering with Load Cell Rental, the production deployed 83 Broadweigh 4.75t wireless load cells during rehearsals at Fly By Nite Studios and for the live show at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

The UK leg of the tour has seen Lana Del Rey perform in a series of major venues including Wembley Stadium, Glasgow’s Hampden Park, and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, with each show demanding high levels of technical precision and rigging assurance.

“The video wall in particular required close attention to guarantee even weight distribution,” explained Ian Barrett, project manager at Load Cell Rental. “We weighed all points on static hoists ahead of load-in, using Broadweigh’s LOG100 software along

Egypt - ETC lighting and control are powering the latest upgrade at the Asharq News Studio, located on the banks of the River Nile in Egypt. Asharq News delivers a wide range of programming - from business news to political talk shows - and continues to invest in technology that enhances its viewer experience.

ETC’s long-time partner and dealer, Oasis Enterprises, specified the lighting and control systems for the Cairo studio, following the successful instalment of ETC lighting in Asharq Studio’s Dubai facility. Building on that proven performance, ETC’s reliable and advanced technology was the clear choice to ensure seamless integration and high performance at each individual studio.

Despite the challenges presented by the studio’s limited space and the presence of a large background window, the team successfully achieved a visually strikin

UK - The Darkness’ rock roots were at the core of LD and programmer David Garcia’s design for their recent tour.

“The Darkness has always had that classic rock and roll feel to their music,” said Garcia (of Bigtime Lighting Design), who worked with a set created by production designer and video director, Eric Cathcart, also of Bigtime Lighting Design and crew chief Tom Rawlinson. “Our mission was to present that feeling with our lighting.”

Working with a lighting rig supplied by Zigzag Lighting, the design team did this in many ways, one of which was through the inspired use of light angles. “We chose to put ladder trusses of fixtures off stage to present the LED screens we had, which displayed The Darkness logo and IMAG images,” said Garcia. “We arranged these fixtures in straight lines to create the classic PAR can look like part

UK - Located at the site of a disused warehouse in Bradford, Loading Bay is a new pop-up venue created for Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture. Throughout the year it will present an extensive and eclectic arts and entertainment programme comprising music, comedy, talks, exhibitions, theatre, live video-gaming, and exhibitions. Set across four floors, Loading Bay includes a theatre, gallery, multi-format basement room, as well as an outside courtyard space.

To ensure the best possible experience for artists, performers, and audience members alike, the venue’s team enlisted Bradford-based production specialists Pro Audio Systems (PAS) to supply and install much of the technology required for its extensive programme.

As well as installing the main front-of-house audio systems for the performance spaces, PAS also supplied a number of significant ancillar

USA - Sennheiser has announced that PGA Tour Studios recently deployed the new Spectera bidirectional wireless audio ecosystem across its new campus in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

The PGA Tour Studios audio team required a system that could not only support a state-of-the-art facility that houses seven dedicated studios, but also seamlessly manage up to 11 shows broadcasting simultaneously in an environment that would be packed with competing RF signals.

The new system needed to offer effortless transitions between studios and a dramatically simplified management interface. Spectera emerged as the best choice for its technical capabilities, along with the way it simplified installation and allowed the engineering team to focus on production rather than infrastructure.

UK - Production lighting for the vibrant and diverse Park Stage at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival was once again supplied by Bristol, UK-based SWG Events. A design by Mat Spencer – also chief LX for the project – which included nearly 70 Robe moving lights, helped deliver the lighting for a lineup including Anohni and the Johnsons, Haim, Caribou, Beth Gibbons, The Maccabees and Gary Numan.

SWG has been the technical production partner for The Park Stage since it was launched in 2007, offering a full package – lighting, audio, video, and rigging. At Glasto 2025, it was one of the largest and most prominent of eight stages in which the company were involved, deploying approximately 60 crew site-wide, explained SWG project manager Joe Bailey.

SWG also has a lot of Robe products in its rental inventory, so it was a natural choice for The Park, where

UK - One of the most recognisable names in British retail, Matalan has a network of more than 270 UK and international stores and caters to upwards of 10m shoppers in-store and online each year. The company’s headquarters in Knowsley, near Liverpool, features an entire ‘mock shop’ and a large-scale conferencing space for staff training, awards ceremonies and other gatherings.

A recent audio upgrade package – supplied by Liverpool-based AV and production specialists MSP – saw an Audio-Technica 3000 Series wireless system installed for use across a variety of locations, as MSP’s general manager Ritchie Neild explains: “We have a long-standing relationship with Matalan, so we tend to have a clear idea of their requirements and use-cases when it comes to AV. When it came to a new wireless solution, to be used for everything from sales training to o

UK - When Siyan MD Mark Baruch and his colleagues first saw GLP’s new JDC Burst 1 at last autumn’s LDI expo in Las Vegas, they knew this evolutionary strobe hybrid would make a significant impact on the lighting rental company’s inventory. Furthermore, they wanted to be at the front of the queue for delivery.

GLP fulfilled that wish, with Kerry Tymms in the UK office going the extra mile to get the first 100 heads landed, racked and into the Royal Albert Hall for a performance by Adriatique. In so doing, this high-profile show became the first deployment of the Bursts anywhere in the UK.

“Since that event they’ve hardly been in the warehouse,” Baruch admits. Recently, Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool saw 40-plus units (many edging the front of the stage) as part of the house rig on the New Music Stage, which saw a surprise ap

Bulgaria - The annual BG Radio Music Awards ceremony took place at Sofia’s Arena 8888, with a sold-out show seeing Bulgaria’s biggest names perform in an immersive video environment, driven by Green Hippo Hippotizer Media Servers.

The stage consisted of 10 individual LED media surfaces, forming a highly modular and immersive visual environment. The centrepiece was a wide, curved LED wall, complemented by additional vertical and horizontal LED elements integrated into the set. All LED surfaces were controlled via six Hippotizer Boreal+ MK2 Media Servers.

“Delivered in a fully tour-ready rack system, the servers allowed us to achieve extremely fast setup times - the system was ready to operate within minutes,” says Sebastian Huwig, aka Huwi, managing director at trust event group, which delivered content design, operation, server system special

UK - White Light (WL) supported the latest immersive production from The Lost Estate - Paradise Under the Stars. Set in a reimagined 1950s Havana, this Cuban cabaret experience has transformed a “secretive” venue in London’s Earl’s Court into the Tropicana Club since March 2025.

Lighting designer Peter Small, a long-standing creative partner of The Lost Estate, was once again tasked with shaping the visual world of the production. To realise his ambitious lighting concept, he partnered with WL to supply a comprehensive lighting package, including a substantial amount of period-authentic fixtures.

With a setting steeped in rhythm, romance, and rich folklore, Small’s approach was rooted in capturing the explosive energy of 1950s Havana through light. “The vision was to create a transportive, immersive atmosphere - one that celebrat

UK - Formed in 1947 above a butcher’s shop in the town centre, Macclesfield Amateur Dramatic Society (MADS) was created with one main purpose – to foster and promote theatre in Macclesfield by giving local people the opportunity to perform on stage. Fast forward almost 80 years and the Society is still going strong, having now produced over 250 main season productions, along with several one act shows, studio pieces as well as festival entries.

Since 1954, MADS’ home has been a purpose-built ‘Little Theatre’ situated on Lord Street and has been upgraded accordingly over the years; now even boasting a bar and lounge area. Following a mechanical inspection conducted by Solutions On Stage, the company was asked to carry out some remedial works within the theatre’s main performance space – to ensure it was safety compliant.

Spain - Teatro Baluarte's 1,600-seat main auditorium presented a classic audio challenge: achieving consistent coverage across 40m of depth without delay systems, while accommodating programming that ranges from classical orchestras to contemporary rock concerts. The venue's reverberant acoustics and requirement for clean stage presentation - essential for flamenco and classical performances - demanded a solution that could deliver professional touring-grade audio within strict aesthetic constraints.

Baluarte Congress Palace, adjacent to Pamplona's 16th-century Citadel, serves as Navarra's primary cultural venue with 63,000sq.m of conference and performance space. The main auditorium's acoustic properties and diverse programming schedule - from Madrid pop-rock band Morgan to violinist Ara Malikian - required a system capable of handling vastly different soni

Poland - Introducing a new generation of concert goers to live music, Polish sound specialist 120dB doubled down on a pair of SSL System T consoles and full Dante network to cater for a sell-out arena tour by Polish social media sensations Genzie.

Using an audio setup specified by 120dB founder Michal Mika, the company used its own 48 fader System T S500m flypack in the FOH position while a 32 fader System T S500 was provided by SSL’s Polish distributor Commercial Audio for monitor mixing all artist IEMs.

Formed in 2021, Genzie is a collective of content creators from Kraków with more than two million YouTube subscribers and billions of video views. Taking the brand on the road, this year’s Genzie Offline Tour gave fans the opportunity to see them live on stage at a series of sell-out concerts culminating in Warsaw’s COS Torwar Arena.

USA - A significant installation of tvONE CORIOmaster video processors at the Virginia Tech State University has transformed how students learn, and lessons are taught.

Four distinct areas within the institution’s Alexandria campus now feature LED screens, projections or displays driven by a range of CORIOmaster2, CORIOmaster mini, and CORIOmaster micro units. The project is part of a wider upgrade of projector screens, LED video walls and TVs.

Virginia Tech’s AB1 AV manager Diego Romero worked closely with the tvONE’s Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager Mitch Klein to find solutions for all four spaces at the Alexandria campus’s Academic Building One. This building includes 300,000 sq.ft of academic space and research and development facilities, across 11 floors.

“The overall aim was to provide users with a smooth experience when s

Canada - “We never do anything traditional. We never go through the front door. It's always the back door, or an open window or something.” Smash Mouth frontman, the late Steve Harwell described the band’s approach to making music in a CNN interview.

Though Harwell passed away two years ago, the quintet from San Jose is still following its own happily quirky path, something they’ve been doing since the release of their debut double-platinum album Fush You Mang, in 1997.

The band’s party vibe is still going strong. The band recently headlined at the three- day Musique Fest Premier Tech festival on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec. Enhancing this free-flowing fun-in-the-sun mood was an equally ebullient lighting design by Marc-Antoine Pelletier that engaged the big crowd with some intense audience lighting and

UK - Something special has been brewing at Glastonbury’s The Glade Stage for many years now. At its heart is an adventurous spirit and a hunger for innovation. This is the place Funktion-One founder Tony Andrews chooses as the playground for the loudspeaker manufacturer’s latest technological developments – where he continues a legacy that started at the first Glastonbury Festival in 1971.

This year, 54 years later, Andrews and Funktion-One, working in collaboration with Audio Plus, continued a trailblazing ethos that has established The Glade Stage as the place for the most exciting sonic experiences at the festival. New heights were reached thanks to a sound system that delivered what Andrews described as “probably the best sonic experience of my life”.

At the heart of The Glade Stage’s setup was Vero VX – Funktion-One’s medium form

USA - Disturbed’s five-time platinum debut album The Sickness began attracting new fans to metal from the day it was released in 2000. To celebrate the album’s 25th anniversary, the band are undertaking a 51-date tour that kicked off at Ford Centre Idaho Arena on 12 February and concludes at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on 28 October, with stops at The United Centre, Madison Square Garden, and the Kia Forum along the way.

Setting the stage for the celebration, while serving up some intensely gripping looks, was a production and lighting design by Trevor Ahlstrand and Sooner Routhier of The Playground that included Chauvet Professional Color Strike M motorised strobes and Maverick Storm 4 Profiles, which, like the rest of the rig, were supplied by Premier Global Production.

Germany - At this year’s Telekom Electronic Beats festival in Berlin, lighting designer Rolf Wenzel deployed 90 GLP JDC2 IP hybrid strobes to create a striking lighting architecture at CANK, a former C&A department store in Neukölln. The fixtures were embedded in a large-format grid structure, inspired by classic 1980s disco aesthetics. The focus was on dynamically illuminated fields and a video-based display of the versatile spotlights.

The goal of the installation was to utilise the venue’s limited architectural space (3.05m of headroom and no hanging options) to create a lighting setup suitable for both DJ sets and live performance. The central element: a 30m-wide, 3m high podium rack with 90 individually controlled JDC2 IP fixtures arranged in 1 x 1m arrays – equally spaced by baffles to create a clean light pattern without glare.

The Netherlands - In the Dutch city of Maastricht, integrator Verjans AV, specialists in the hospitality sector, recently designed and supplied Coda Audio systems for three city-centre venues.

With considerable experience of both installation and live event audio, Harald Verjans first encountered Coda Audio in 2013 and has been a fan of the brand and customer of Viladco, Coda’s Benelux distributor, ever since.

“I attended a demo in Hanover and was immediately struck by the audio quality and the power coming from such small boxes. The fact that all the different cabinets share the same sonic signature was also a big plus. When the three venues in Maastricht wanted exceptional high-fidelity audio from their systems, Coda loudspeakers were the obvious choice.”

Verjans installed a new Coda Audio system for the recently opened Bar Nola. The

Creativity is king in this area and The Morris, as a three-floor multi-concept venue, is a fine example how carefully considered design with great attention to detail can create the perfect atmosphere.

In Thomas Street’s competitive environment, The Morris’s ownership wished to gain an edge by investing in a flexible sound system which could provide high-quality audio for background music and live performance, whilst also complementing the venue’s aesthetic.

The Morris engaged experienced Salford-based integrator Hollowsphere, who provided a premium solution based on Pioneer Pro Audio CM-Series commercial audio loudspeakers. The range has quickly establish
