Belgium - The historic Théâtre Royal du Parc in Brussels, one of the city’s oldest theatres, has ushered in a new era of lighting with the installation of a modern Elation lighting system. The new rig, supplied by Belgian AV specialists XLR, includes dynamic ellipsoidal, moving head, and cyc lights, bringing new possibilities and consistent colour performance to the venue’s stage.

Théâtre Royal du Parc had long been a satisfied customer of XLR in terms of a high-quality sound system. When the time came to modernise the theatre’s lighting, with XLR now serving as Elation’s exclusive distributor in Belgium, it was a natural next step to explore whether Elation’s solutions could meet the venue’s high technical and artistic standards.

An Italian-style theatre dating back to the late 1700s, the theatre works almost exclusively in-house, pr

Mexico - It is fitting that Conjunto Primavera was officially founded on the first day of spring, the season of fresh beginnings when all things seem possible. That was back in 1978, and in the ensuing five decades, the Grammy-winning norteño-sax band has eagerly embraced the spirit of this hopeful season, always welcoming new ideas, as they’ve expanded their genre.

Reflecting the boldness and spirit of this band on their current 47th Anniversary Tour is a sweeping lighting and video design by Arturo Sanchez Jr. that features 156 Chauvet Professional fixtures supplied by PROled.

Like the band itself, Sanchez’s design for this tour leaves familiar expectations behind to explore new ideas. In the process it has created a visual journey that takes fans to new places. This was evident at Conjunto Primavera’s 28 June show at Teatro Telmex

Germany - At the beginning of the year, TSE AG conceived an impressive production design for League of Legends’ EMEA Championship (LEC) Camera Days. The client was Riot Games – TSE’s first joint project with the game developer and esports organiser. The filmed sequences will serve as pre-match inserts in the studio and on the LED walls during the international stream.

For the project, TSE developed a visual concept: a room-filling mirror set, complemented by a dynamic lighting design, specifically tailored to the requirements of variable camera angles. The project was realised in a converted bowling alley in Berlin, and encompassed the entire technical set-up, including lighting, rigging, set construction, video and power. TSE’s inventory included a total of 72 impression X5 Bars and 36 JDC2 IP systems, enabling flexible and efficient projec

Ben Mansfield of Tourlite Designs was approached by the promotors last summer to work with them in developing the stage lighting and production design. He chose 48 Ayrton Rivale Profiles and 120 Ayrton Cobra fixtures as the mainstay of his lighting design.

“We’ve used Ayrton products for years and really like the spot fixtures and the colour rendering they produce,” says Mansfield. “But for this project we specifically chose Cobra for its tight beam and Rivale Profile for its versatility, big-faced lens and crisp optics. And since we had no roof to any

USA - For their first major arena tour as headliners, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats hit the road this past spring on their South of Here Tour with a soulful, vintage-inspired production design that reflected their signature blend of folk, Americana, and rhythm & blues.

At the heart of the lighting design was the Elation SŌL I Blinder – a key fixture chosen by production and lighting designer Jeremy Roth, who specified 106 units as the core element of the visual aesthetic. Brown Note Productions delivered the full lighting, audio, and rigging systems for the tour.

Roth turned to the SŌL Blinders for their blend of retro form factor and modern colour capabilities. “I’m generally attracted to retro-looking fixtures,” he explained. “My preference is to utilise the best aspects of new technology, but ideally in a fix

Europe - What you see is not always what it appears to be. This timeless reality check can make things a bit uncertain at times, but on the flip side, it can also lead to some surprising moments. Such was the case with the production design that Rob Lister and his team at IYA created for the recently completed nu-metal band Korn’s world tour.

With its towering trim and floating automated light pods, the tour’s production immersed and captivated fans on a multitude of levels, but though the show was majestic, the underlying lighting element behind it was straightforward, according to Thomas ‘Church’ Christmann of CycoVision.

Christmann was the programmer and LD for the tour, powering his show with a ChamSys MagicQ MQ500M+ Stadium console. “Rob and the IYA team did an incredible job,” he said. “They gave me all the freedom to programme th
