USA - Altman Lighting, an established name in theatrical and architectural lighting for over 72 years, has unveiled a new brand identity and product family structure. Following a challenging post-pandemic period for the entertainment technology industry, Altman has emerged with renewed clarity, strategic focus, and a deepened commitment to serving its dealers and customers.
“Our mission has always been to craft lighting solutions that honour the legacy of theatrical excellence while embracing the needs of today’s productions and architectural spaces,” said Russell Altman, president of Altman Lighting. “These past five years have challenged us - but they’ve also sharpened our focus. We’ve streamlined our operations, stayed disciplined, and remained committed to creating reliable, high-quality tools that empower designers and technicians. We’re here, we’re evolving, and we’re ready to earn your trust - project by project, as we have since 1953.”
In early 2025, Altman introduced a revitalised brand identity and a new naming convention for its product lines - organising fixtures into clearly defined ‘families’ inspired by mountain terms, a nod to Altman’s Denver-based factory.
The new fixture families bring clarity and cohesion to Altman’s growing catalogue of LED driven lighting solutions:
Peak Series offers powerful, precise followspots designed for stages of all sizes. The Peak Series offers both smooth manual and precise digital control over beam intensity, size, and colour - suitable for live performance environments that demand exacting performance.
Alpine Series is designed for both theatrical and architectural use. This family includes the classic LED Worklight III and Altman’s dynamic cyclorama fixtures.
Phoenix Series, a long-time favourite, is now part of a cohesive identity. The Phoenix line includes the PHX LVD, PHX 1.5, and PHX 3.5 Fixed Focus and Zoom models, offering everything from line voltage dimming to silent, convection-cooled operation to high-output RGBL colour rendering - all ready to ship and built for venues of every scale.
Ascent Series’ Fresnel and profile fixtures are designed to bring classic performance into the modern era. The Ascent ATF Fresnel delivers clean white light with self-sensing dimming, and while not yet in production, future Ascent models are being explored with advanced features like colour mixing and motorized control.
Summit Series offers versatile, weather-resistant PAR fixtures for indoor or outdoor use.
Aurora Series is billed as the future of ‘architainment’ lighting. The Aurora 200 Pendant and the Aurora 40 Downlight deliver silent, high-output performance in sleek, convection-cooled housings - suitable for houses of worship, performance venues, and architectural settings where form is just as important as function.
In tandem with the rebrand, Altman has launched the Luminous Path campaign - a focused initiative to reconnect with its dealer network, improve transparency, and share timely product knowledge. From proactive communications to new sales enablement tools, the campaign reflects Altman’s philosophy of ‘walking with its dealers, not ahead of them’.
Closing out the year, Altman will debut Center Stage with Altman, a new series of live, virtual Q&A events with pre-registration campaigns tailored to the dealer network. These sessions will cover timely topics based on partner feedback, product updates, and industry trends - designed to keep the conversation going and keep the spotlight on real-world solutions.
