Drop us a line at info@lsionline.com with the subject line LSi @ 40 to share your input for our special anniversary edition!

UK - Keen-eyed readers will no doubt have noticed our special edition 40th anniversary logo popping up here on LSi Online, and across our social media platforms in recent weeks. While the magazine’s official anniversary isn’t until November, we’re kicking off celebrations early as we prepare to honour the occasion this September at the PLASA Show (7-9 September, Olympia, London).

At the PLASA Show, we’ll be hosting the LSi Theatre, a dedicated seminar theatre. Here, show visitors can enjoy a carefully curated schedule of talks, panel discussions and ‘live’ editorial columns hosted by an array of LSi journalists, including Rob Halliday, Phil Ward, Louise Stickland, James Simpson, Sam Woodward, Roland Hemming, James Eade, Jerry Gilbert and more.

Topics will range from reflection on 40 years of both LSi, and the industry itself, to the latest venue installations and production stories, plus industry issues, best practice and more. Joining the line-up of LSi journalists will be an array of special guests, each keen to share their insight across multiple disciplines, including, audio, lighting, AV, rigging and beyond.

All sessions are free-to-attend for registered PLASA Show visitors. Be sure to keep an eye on LSi and the PLASA Show website for the latest seminar programme announcements!

Also at the PLASA Show, the traditional after-show party which takes place on the central bar on Monday 8 September (directly after the PLASA Awards for Innovation ceremony), will this year celebrate all things LSi. With the support of our generous anniversary sponsors, we warmly invite you to join us to raise a glass to 40 years of industry coverage at the LSi Party – just make sure you’re in the venue before 7pm!

Editorial reflections

Meanwhile, we’ll also be sharing some gems from our archive over the coming weeks and months as we present LSi Rewind. This series of posts will highlight various elements of the magazine’s history, including a look at productions we’ve covered several times over the decades. We’ll explore how they evolved, who was involved, and the tech that made it all possible.

November reign

With the very first edition of LSi published in November 1985, you can expect this year’s November issue to be something special. We’re hard at work lining up some in-depth articles that we think you’ll love, to mark this milestone in style.

This is where we’d love your input. Whether you’ve been a loyal reader from the very beginning or joined us somewhere along the way, we’d love you to send us a few words for our special anniversary edition.

It can be as simple as wishing us happy anniversary, or perhaps you’d like to share a favourite article, memorable edition or how LSi has touched your career. Please drop us a line or two at info@lsionline.com with the subject line: LSi @ 40.

Thanks as ever for your continued support. Here’s to 40 years – and counting!
