Brazil - Community loudspeakers have been installed in the three adjoining Carioca Arenas, newly built for the international events in Rio de Janeiro, and located in the heart of the Barra Olympic Park.

The main contractor, Honeywell do Brasil, appointed Soundvision Engenharia de Audio e Video to provide the AV for all three Carioca Arenas. Community's R Series loudspeakers were chosen on their track record of proven reliability, high output, high intelligibility and accurate coverage. A combination of R.5MAX models were used to provide the dispersion patterns required for even coverage of the 360-degree seating areas. In each of the arenas the loudspeakers are driven by Crown DCi amplifiers with BSS BLU-800 processors providing system DSP.

USA - The Raleigh-Cary Jewish Community Centre in Raleigh, North Carolina is set in a beautiful, 30-acre campus that features the Steven N. Guld Family Center, an outdoor pool, and an outdoor area with walking trails, a stocked lake, an amphitheatre, a basketball court, and a playground. The centre is in the midst of a sizeable expansion, which started with a renovation of the family centre and an update of the pool facilities.

Among the many improvements are new sound reinforcement systems both for the centre's 100-seat multipurpose room and for the pool. Local A/V integration firm Avant Systems Integration designed and installed the new sound systems, relying on Ashly Audio DSP, amplification, and user control to power a 5.1 Danley surround system for the multipurpose room and a Danley OS-80 fully-weatherized loudspeaker for the pool.

Tibet - Lawo has reported its first project for the Tibet People's Radio Station in Lhasa. With Chinese system integrator Infomedia Digital Technology serving as the project's main contractor, the project was begun in January 2016 with an extensive order for Lawo mixing and routing technology placed in May, and the aim of networking all of the broadcaster's on-air studios and dubbing studio using a single, central router.

Tibet's People's Radio operates in support of the China Central Government, aiming to support cultural and arts activities in Tibet, and to ensure its social and economic stability.

USA - Big House Sound, Inc. located in Austin, Texas, has been a successful regional production company for more than 26 years. The company started with a few Adamson Systems Engineering boxes in 1992 and as their business has grown, so has their relationship with Adamson.

"Our business services events from festivals that draw in 50,000 all the way down to clubs with a capacity of 100," explains Roy Kircher, owner of Big House Sound. UK - Premier live London music venue KOKO has maintained its policy of progressive technical upgrade by investing in Soundcraft's new generation Vi digital platform.

This summer it replaced its two long-standing Soundcraft Vi6 consoles, which form part of a complete Harman Professional sound reinforcement package, with the latest Vi7000s from UK and Ireland distributors, Sound Technology Ltd - one at front of house and one for stage monitors.

The upgrade met the approval of technical manager, Tim Hamper, and senior sound engineer, Eddie Puhl. Stated the former, "The old desks served us brilliantly for nearly a decade and this has been a seamless and logical transition."

He confirmed that the two Vi7000s were supplied with local racks and Realtime Racks, featuring the suite of UAD plugins, which provide classic analogue emulations.

Europe - Belgian electro rock band, Soulwax, has embarked on a summer tour of Europe with Allen & Heath dLive digital mixing systems and a ME personal monitoring system to manage FOH, monitors and recording.

Soulwax's band members wanted to create a "20th Century" sound by incorporating several vintage Trident Fleximix consoles on stage for pre mixing. FOH engineer, Hugo Scholten, needed a system that could manage up to 128 input channels to blend the vintage stems with any of the individual mic/line channels for the final FOH mix. Virtual soundcheck capability and the option to add Waves plug-ins, were also required at FOH, as well as a digital mic preamp split between Monitors and FOH, and a separate integrated system providing hands-on personal monitoring for the artists.

USA - Far from being just another event space, Community Courtyard has a history and aesthetic reaching back to 1850. It was then that a carriage works and livery stable laid its foundation in Plattsburg, Missouri. In the century that followed, the lovely brick building became a roller skate factory, a car dealership, and a cabinetry shop, but in the 1980s it fell into disrepair.

Inspired by its beauty and cultural significance, a local non-profit raised the funds necessary to turn it into a community event space. UK - In 2011, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds released their debut album and embarked on an understated tour of theatre sized venues. Since then the band hasn't stopped and 2016 has seen it embark on a world tour, with an L-Acoustics audio system provided by Britannia Row Productions.

Unsurprisingly, the size of the venues has increased, with the latest tour including six UK arena dates, the tour concluding with a final show at the Brixton O2 Academy in September.
