Europe - Cyndi Lauper took a final lap of the UK and Europe with her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour with PRG entrusted to supply a full 360-degree package, including lighting, video, rigging and audio, for the arena run.

The show is a mix of bright colours (her true colours if you will) bringing Lauper’s image into 2025, designed by Tom Sutherland and the team at DX7 Design; along with Brian Burke of Brian Burke Creative. The main event is an 'accordion-style' video screen lined with LED lighting fixtures, made up of 234 ROE Active CB5 video panels and surrounded by Pixel Line IP fixtures. To support the fixtures and create the seamless columns between the panels, PRG adapted the custom metalwork from the US tour as well as fabricating new metalwork to support pixel line ‘chevrons’ that sat on the front of the on-stage lighting trusse

USA - Jelly Roll, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mayer, Gracie Abrams, Pink and more – the stars came out in force for Live Nation's Fire Aid benefit concert. But behind the scenes there was also an array of talent that made this spectacular and very worthy event (it raised over $100m for those affected by the LA area fires) come to life.

Lighting designer Allen Branton and production designer Patrick Dierson led a talented team of professionals that created powerful, and often deeply moving looks, at two venues (Kia Forum and Intuit Dome) that connected not only to the live audiences, but also to the 50m who watched on various livestreams.

UK - Unusual Rigging returned to the Royal Albert Hall for the 2025 Olivier Awards on Sunday 6 April, bringing its expertise and large-scale technical capability to one of British theatre’s biggest nights. No stranger to either the venue or the event, Unusual was tasked with delivering the full scope of rigging and draughting requirements for this year’s spectacular ceremony – supporting an ambitious production with sustainable, reusable rigging infrastructure.

Germany - Following the recent launch of the new GLP impression S500, the powerful successor to the proven impression S350 was put to use in December 2024 at the Tollwood Winter Festival in Munich. PRG Germany deployed 34 of the 500W LED profile fixtures for the spectacular show Duel Reality by Canadian company The 7 Fingers, which ran from 17-22 December in the Grand Chapiteau theatre tent.

PRG has been the full-service provider for the technical equipment of the festival for over 20 years, covering all tents as well as the entire outdoor and ambient lighting of the event, which is held twice a year (summer/winter).

South Africa - The 2024 Afrikaans is Groot (AIG) concert series was staged at SunBet Arena in Time Square, Pretoria, produced by Coleske Artist Management. Nine sold-out performances thrilled audiences over two consecutive weekends.

The show was lit by two of South Africa’s best-known lighting designers, Joshua Cutts and André Siebrits from Visual Frontier. On the lighting rig were Robe moving lights, all delivered by Johannesburg-based lighting rental company, MGG.

Cutts and Siebrits have both worked on the annual event previously. In fact, Cutts has clocked up around seven years as lighting designer and Siebrits at least six, the last four as lead programmer. 2024 was the 10th anniversary of the overall event which has proved enduringly popular with the Afrikaans community.

UK - When the Tony Award-nominated musical A Night with Janis Joplin made its UK premiere at London’s Peacock Theatre, audiences were not only swept away by Joplin’s music but also by an immersive audio experience courtesy of KV2 Audio’s state-of-the-art sound system.

The production, which celebrates the life and music of the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, utilised KV2’s ESR215, EX1.8 subwoofers, and ESD5 loudspeakers to deliver sound quality that captured every nuance of Joplin’s performances.

USA - LG Electronics has delivered display solutions to Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox and the oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball (MLB). In late March, LG installed a massive main LED videoboard in centrefield at Fenway Park, measuring 30.5m wide by 11.5m high and covering an area of 350.75 square metres.

Additionally, LG delivered a comprehensive display solution comprising 11 digital signage installations. These screens span a combined area of approximately 842sq.m, including a notable 171sq.m ribbon board display.

Starting 4 April, fans had the opportunity to experience the action of the game in vivid detail, delivered by LG’s LED signage displays during the home opener – the first Fenway Park matchup of the 2025 MLB season between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Finland - Helsinki Music Centre, home to Finland's two most prestigious orchestras, has completed a significant technical renovation featuring an L-Acoustics L Series loudspeaker system as its centrepiece. The audio upgrade, part of a larger renovation that included lighting systems and new mixing consoles, provides superior coverage and clarity in the venue's challenging acoustic environment while elegantly overcoming previous architectural and sight line constraints.

The 1,700-seat concert hall, which hosts approximately 1,500 events annually across its various spaces, presents challenges for amplified performances. Hosting international artists, television productions, and radio broadcasts in addition to classical music, the hall requires a solution that could deliver clear, controlled sound throughout its unusual 360-degree seating configuration.

Italy - There are certain architectural and historic structures that present particularly demanding challenges when it comes to installing and optimising sound systems.

This complexity is particularly redolent of churches and other places of worship: avoiding annoying acoustic reverberations, preventing incorrect propagation of sounds, and ensuring maximum intelligibility of music and speech (while still respecting precise architectural constraints) are of paramount importance, especially when dealing with treasured historical buildings.

France - Over 200 Anolis Calumma S and XS and Eminere Remote 1, 2, 3 and 4 LED lighting fixtures were specified for an eye-catching new architectural lighting installation at the Palais des Ducs et des Etats de Bourgogne (Town Hall) in Dijon.

The project was titled Les reflets de l’Or (Reflections of Gold) and sees the Town Hall, Philippe le Bon Tower and the Saint-Michel church of this architectural complex highlighted in subtle and elegant light.

The project realisation was a fine balance of talented collaborators, including lighting designers Johan Sustrac and Saffran Popille from Distylight; and Pierre Roussel from architects Godart + Roussel Architectes.

Paraguay - Ueno Bank has become the first institution in Paraguay to adopt Powersoft’s Unica fixed-installation amplifier platform, following a major audio system upgrade at its headquarters in the national capital Asunción.

One of the largest financial providers in Paraguay, Ueno has a national network of more than 70 banks, each of which have also been equipped with Powersoft technology in the form of its half-size Mezzo install amplifiers by local system integrator DCI.

USA - After a seven-year hiatus, two-time Grammy Award winners Linkin Park are back on the road. Their 50-plus-show From Zero World Tour takes them from Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros on 31 January through 15 November in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and pretty much everywhere in between to stadiums and arenas globally.

Malaysia - Set within 13 acres of tranquil gardens, the National Mosque of Malaysia (Masjid Negara) Kuala Lumpur is an oasis of calm in the centre of the bustling capital city. With a 240ft minaret, a 16-point star on its roof, and space for up to 15,000 worshippers at any one time, the mosque is one of the best-known in Malaysia.

Since its construction in 1965, the mosque has seen several upgrades to its PA system, in both the indoor and outdoor prayer spaces, but has continued to struggle with poor intelligibility, inadequate coverage and a system that was difficult for mosque operators to manage. USA - A complement of MA Lighting grandMA3 consoles was chosen to provide lighting control for the recent Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show produced by Roc Nation, DPS and Jesse Collins Productions. Provided by PRG, three grandMA3 full-size systems and one light, which served as the tech desk, were deployed at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

This year, rapper Kendrick Lamar headlined the halftime show with guest appearances from R&B artist SZA, actor Samuel L. Jackson, tennis player Serena Williams and DJ/record producer Mustard. It was seen by a combined 133.5m viewers domestically across broadcast television and streaming platforms, becoming the most viewed halftime show in the US.

Hungary - An impressive art installation comprising a series of sculptures within the newly renovated Hagymatikum Spa in Mako, is drawing crowds as an immersive experience, made possible with a system by Pharos Architectural Controls.

The spa in the Hungarian town is now home to Atlantis World, a series of Atlantis-themed sculptures based on the designs of famed Hungarian architect, the late Imre Makovecz, which were found hidden in his possessions.

The sculpture group dazzles visitors with light shows and three themed films, evoking the mythical world of the legendary lost city. To make this a reality, the production manager of the project, Hungarian designer Péter Horgas, specified Pharos to deliver the control elements of the attraction.

Israel - Tel Aviv-based creative lighting design studio LEAD – founded by Omer Israeli and Dor Aichner – produced a sculptural lighting design concept for the Israeli tech company Mobileye’s 2025 Purim party event, staged in Pavilion 2 at the Tel Aviv Expo, produced by production specialist ThisPlay and designed by Shlomi Ilani.

Omer explained that they used Robe Tetra2 and TetraX fixtures at the core of this production lighting design.

The aesthetics involved a combination of lighting, automation and precise programming to produce “a dynamic composition of circular shapes and kinetic elements,” creating a “seamless flow of movement, light, and rhythm” to highlight and showcase a lineup of live artists performing in the vast barn-like venue space, which has 22m of headroom.
