Funktion-One says that in order to keep pace with the huge success and high demand of the recently introduced Resolution 3, it has enhanced its production with a new set of tooling for the mid high wave guides. The company says: "This new tooling created the opportunity to refine the technology, taking the product to a new level".

This has also given rise to the new stand-alone R3SH which has been used to great acclaim in venues as diverse as the National Theatre, for Danny Boyle's production of Frankenstein, and to the main room at Space Ibiza. The development further underlines Funktion One's stance that good loudspeakers are in no way genre specific and are suitable for all audio applications.

Demonstrations of Funktion-One's full range of products will be taking place throughout the show in the company's demonstration room, in the Permanent Press Office, near the Terrac

CableJoG will be launching its latest cable tester, the Avjog, at PLASA 2011. The Avjog is designed to assist in the installation and maintenance of AV cabling in schools, universities, theatres and stadiums. It is the latest cable tester produced by CableJoG Limited, designed by Eddie Zych and manufactured in the North West of England.

The Avjog provides a two-box solution to testing installed cables where both ends of the cable cannot be plugged into a single tester. Each box carries a wide range of connectors as used in AV industry applications, i.e. DVI, HDMI, SCART, VGA, RJ-45, DIN, USB, XLR, Jack, Phono, BNC and Coaxial.

Testing has been made exceptionally easy; the user can simply connect the cable under test to the Local and Remote Avjog units and press the 'test' button. The Local unit checks all the connections found against an internal database of known cables and displays

With a worldwide reputation for Ethernet and DMX data networking products for lighting and LED wall systems, Netherlands-based ELC Lighting has extended its range of add-ons to include digital communications and cue lights over Ethernet. Stand 2-S15 at PLASA 2011 will be the launchpad for GreenGo - what company describes as "an innovative digital communications system with outstations that are simple to use and connect into any Ethernet network".

GreenGo provides high quality digital voice communications, and optional text messages and cue lights, simply by connecting beltpacks and wall-mounted outstations anywhere on the Ethernet network. For basic voice comms, just a set of beltpacks is needed - an expensive central matrix unit and separate power supplies are not required - as all the data settings are stored in each beltpack, which is powered via the network delivering sta

Acclaim Lighting will show its new Rebel Band 600 which, the company says, can scale 100' buildings with ease. This powerful IP-rated LED wall wash provides lighting professionals with a solution for long throw dynamic illumination of large structures, façades and landscapes.

The biggest and brightest LED fixture introduced by Acclaim to date, the Rebel Band 600 is equipped with 104 high-power Rebel LEDs. It provides enough output and covers enough area to handle large-scale applications where LED fixtures typically haven't been used, such as washing 100' building façades.

With an IP-65 rating, the Rebel Band 600 is able to withstand rain and dust, so it can be used either indoors or outdoors. In addition to architectural applications, its precise light distribution and extremely even field make it perfect for high-impact stage scene settings, adds the company.

UK - Independent AV consultant Richard Northwood of COMS has given a resounding thumbs-up to the final and definitive test of the Nexo sound system he specified at Glasgow's Ibrox Stadium, the home of Rangers Football Club. After a recent home match, attended by more than 50,000 fans, he described the newly-installed PA/VA as being "as near as one can get to hi-fi in a performance space as large as this".

Ibrox is listed as a heritage site, which means that parts of the 130-year old building's architecture are protected by law. It is also of huge cultural importance to its community of supporters; many fans have been attending matches, sitting in the same seat, for decades, and so the design and installation of a new sound system had to consider sensibilities far and above the provision of audible evacuation instruction.
