Onstage, the band was using L-Acoustics 115XT HiQ active stage monitors.

"I have spent all my career in recording studios mixing top Brazilian and international artists," says Carlos' engineer, Flavio Senna. UK - According to data released recently, the eurozone economy has slipped closer to stagnation and there are growing fears of a double dip recession. Financial reports show that the region's manufacturing sector has contracted for the first time since September 2009 and growth is slowing across the board, however many companies in our industry report healthy order books and busy diaries.

Against a background of such uncertainty, PLASA CEO Matthew Griffiths suggests there has never been a more important time to talk to each other. "When financial experts are sceptical about future economic growth, we have to take note and be prepared for market changes. Fortunately, this is a strong industry that performs well and understands how to innovate. It's also thankfully one that believes in openly discussing issues, so it's encouraging that people want to discuss what the next 12

France - Two weeks in July heralded the 51st edition of the International Jazz a Juan, one of Europe's coolest jazz festivals, held beachside in Antibes Juan-les-Pins in the south of France. It was here, with the glittering Mediteranian Sea as its backdrop, that DiGiCo's SD Ten console made the music of Herbie Hancock, BB King and Santana sound just that little bit sweeter.

Jazz a Juan is the longest running jazz festival in Europe and is organised by Jean-René Palacio, artistic director of the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), based in the principality of Monaco - also the organiser of the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival, which DiGiCo has sponsored for the past four years.

Palacio's desire to produce not only the best, but something a little different, stretches across every event he organises, both in terms of artistic line up and all aspects of production. In a

Outline's large-format line-source system will make its UK début at PLASA 2011. The result of a two-year cooperation between Outline and some of the world's best-known rental companies, GTO (Grand Touring Outline) has already had a highly successful start. The first systems that left the factory (summer 2010) were already sold and earmarked for immediate use on high-profile concerts and tours, initially in the USA and then Europe. Those systems, says the company, were not prototypes but standard production models.

Outline adds that currently, thanks to the evolution of a market in which loudspeakers are increasingly sturdy and efficient, "there is no doubt that almost all PAs effectively sound loud". This, says Outline, has led to exaggerated use of expressions such as 'incredible output power' by audio manufacturers - "expressions that in many cases are backed up

The P3-200 System Controller is a new addition to Martin Professional's P3 System Controller family for LED screens. It combines all the celebrated features of Martin's advanced P3-100 video signal controller yet adds SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI input capability for optimized use in TV/broadcast environments.

The P3-200 retains all the advantages of the P3-100 System Controller like built-in scaling and de-interlacing, multiple video protocol and resolution support, built-in graphical user interface, and direct DMX control of brightness, color, pixelmapping and more. It works with all Martin LED display systems (LC Series with P3 Upgrade Kit, LC Plus Series and EC Series) and is software and showfile compatible with the P3-100 System Controller.

Stating that "it took a lighting company to change the LED video world", Martin says that with the P3 family of video signal control

CAST will be demonstrating the new 3D version, which ships later this year, of the ground breaking BlackTrax technology at PLASA 2011.

BlackTrax 3D is, the company says, "a revolutionary system for tracking people and objects with unbelievable accuracy, in real time". The system uses a proprietary IR placed on each object to track their X, Y, and Z - the 3D coordinates. The new system also drives true 3D audio output for the first time in the world, says CAST.

CAST will also demonstrate a prototype of its new BlackTrax 6D - which tracks the position and orientation for 3D plus roll, pitching, and yaw - all in real-time.

Using leading-edge proprietary IR, BlackTrax can track all the parameters of each uniquely tagged object in the defined 3D space. Should the IR line of sight be obstructed (which is the primary mode of tracking), the onboard accelerometer delivers redundan

Prolyte Group says its brand manager Eric Laanstra frequently received enquiries for a smaller truss with a higher loading capacity and has masterminded a solution. With his team of engineer, he has designed the H40R truss, a rectangular standard H40 truss with a programme of specifications based on the H30V, H40V and S36R truss.

The H40R has three-sided webbing. The thicker braces on the bottom side allow easy mounting of automated luminaires/moving heads and central loading, reducing the torsion effect resulting from one-sided loading in standard trusses.

The spigot orientation follows that of the S series truss, allowing easy assembly while the truss is still on the floor. The H40R measures 339mm high by 239mm wide. The diagonals are placed to allow room for a 30D truss to rest on the bottom chords.

The loading rate is comparable to the H40V, taking into account that, due to the
