Namibia – Maerua Mall, located in Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, underwent a major renovation and expansion at the end of 2024, introducing a host of new retail, dining, and entertainment facilities. Three of the mall’s newly opened restaurants – Bossa, Ocean Basket, and Galito’s - turned to Stage Audio Works (SAW) Namibia to design, supply, and install sound systems tailored to their needs.

Each restaurant required user-friendly control, clarity and coverage throughout the venue. “From the outset, we were given complete freedom to design a comprehensive system,” says Joppie Maritz, managing director at SAW Namibia. “Our goal was to deliver a system that is easy to navigate and would provide high-quality audio.”

France - ETC’s automated fixture Lonestar was selected to light up the French ‘President of the Republic’ Emmanuel Macron during his speech at the Louvre Museum earlier this year.

The President’s team sought advanced lighting fixtures that could deliver consistently high-quality, reliable output across a wide range of environments for upcoming presidential events.

It was at the annual JTSE tradeshow in Paris where a member of the Élysée Palace team (the official residence of the President of France) discovered Lonestar at ETC France’s stand.

The High End Systems Lonestar offered advantages that were hard to ignore by the team: bright output given its very small footprint, and its quiet operation.

After a thorough phase of testing and research, the Elysée Palace team chose and ordered six Lonestar fixtures from ETC which w

From mid-August to early October 2025, the band performed across Canada and the United States for 18 shows. In charge of the video technical design for this last tour, Canadian company Monochrome Project selected Modulo Pi’s Modulo Kinetic media server solution to power the show.

“Everything has worked perfectly,” says Louis Buxin, innovation director and media server specialist at Monochrome Project. The scenography relies on a central ROE LED wall positioned upstage, measuring 15 x 6m with a resolution of 2,496 x 1,040 pixels. This main screen is complemented by two side LED walls, each approximately 7.5 x 4m.

Depending on the equipment available in each venue, the side walls are sometimes replaced with a video

UK - The Regent Centre is a 505-seat cinema and theatre that sits in the heart of Christchurch, Dorset. Having first opened its doors back in 1931, it still thrives today as a non-profit, multi-purpose venue with live music, comedy and community performance shows which help bring in over 100,000 visitors every year.

Following a mechanical inspection, it was decided that the venue required both a replacement of its auditorium chain hoist system as well as a new wing-masking system with curtain tracks and drapes – with all of this work being carried out by Solutions On Stage.

Solutions On Stage were first contacted by the Regent Centre’s technical manager Scott Gurd, who comments: “I was on the lookout for a new technical inspection company as I wanted to ensure that our performance space was as safe and technically efficient as possible. Solutio

India - Mumbai, India’s most populous city and financial capital, is currently undergoing significant redevelopment. In Bhendi Bazaar in particular, the expansive Saifee Burhani Upliftment Project is transforming the area into a modern and vibrant metropolis. A significant part of the ongoing project has been the renovation of the area’s Saifee Masjid.

Originally built in the early 20th century, the Masjid soon became the community’s primary place of worship. After almost 100 years of service, the building underwent significant reconstruction before reopening in September 2023. The updated structure blends architectural heritage with innovation, along with an audio-visual system to reflect the needs of modern-day worshippers. 12 Renkus-Heinz Iconyx Compact ICC12/3 loudspeakers were chosen as an integral part of this soundscape.

USA - Back in 2020, the Newport Folk Festival introduced a bike powered stage, following the organisers’ desire to incorporate bicycles into the festival experience and provide an alternative power source for performances.

Masterminding this was Illiterate Light, a two-piece rock band from Virginia who had first experimented with the idea of carrying a simple sound system powered by bike, after setting up in 2015.

Eric Shy took over production manager duties as the tech scaled up, and the idea really took root after the band played the Quad Stage at the 2019 Newport Folk festival where 2000-plus bikes commuted to the festival. The festival loved the idea of bike-powered performance and invited Illiterate Light back in 2020 to become a full-blown stage at the festival (which has persisted to this day).

Spain - On the roof terrace of the boutique hotel Monsuau in Cala D'Or, Mallorca, guests can enjoy cocktails at sunset, listen to DJ sets and experience live shows – with a completely new sound and lighting system.

The installation service provider responsible for the new system, Sonomusic, developed a customised system based on solutions from LD Systems and Cameo. The audio and lighting setup is managed and controlled via the QUESTRA design and management software from LD Systems.

The requirements for the audio system were an appealing design to match the look of the rooftop bar, and even sound coverage without disturbing the hotel rooms below or neighbouring residential buildings. “By using the compact LD Systems MAUI i1 column loudspeakers and DQOR SUB 8 subwoofers, we found an optimal solution for this challenge,” explains Andreu Femenias,

The Netherlands - DI-RECT entertained 50,000-plus fans at De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam for three nights this summer, as the band from The Hauge celebrated a quarter century of making music.

The show started with a soft, gentle mood, with lead vocalist Marcel Veenendaal and guitarist Frans ‘Spike’ van Zoest performing on a diamond-shaped 360-stage. The show then moved to a full (non-360 stage), as the show amped up to included more symphonic parts with an orchestra on tiered risers backing the band, as well as a full-fledged rock show vibe with two towering video walls and beefy lighting rig.

USA - Vari-Lite has announced the VL3200 LT Profile IP, a compact, long-throw production profile fixture with over 20,000 lumens of output in a small, outdoor-rated format.

“Smaller outdoor-rated moving lights are becoming highly desirable for use both in production systems and installations. The VL3200 LT Profile meets that need without compromising in specification or performance,” said Martin Palmer, Vari-Lite marketing and product management leader at Signify.

“Unfortunately, many midrange IP6X fixtures currently being offered are not being built to the same robust quality and performance as that of the larger fixtures. Compromises in the design of many current offerings result in poor and inconsistent light output and a lack of overall performance, affecting the longevity of the fixture. Productions are looking for a compact IP-rated movin

UK - Located in Highgate, London, the L-Acoustics showroom relies on Van Damme cabling to support the required audio, video and lighting.

“The product hybrids needed a flexible infrastructure,” explains Kevin Groom, application engineer of Showroom Solutions and one of the key players behind creating the space. “Any activity - cinema, fashion show, ballet or performance - had to work in the room. We designed it so that every conceivable use case could be supported without retrofitting.” That meant building a comprehensive network of connection points across two rooms, allowing equipment to be plugged in wherever needed while ensuring zero signal loss.

Futureproofing was also crucial, as Groom notes: “We had to plan for products we didn’t even know about yet. For example, the DJ decks we can now roll in and plug directly into the central r
