Two widescreen displays each measuring 7m high x 4m wide have been installed at either end of the stadium using digiLED's latest effective resolution digiLED d12 modules which offer a 25mm physical, 12.5mm effective, pixel pitch.

The bespoke modules were specifically designed to suit FC Start's stadium, maximising the screen size in the available space. Measuring 1m wide x 1m high x 0.140m deep, the 7 x 4 module configuration provides a screen with an effective resolution of 560 x 320 pixels.

The gymnasium was a large 120ft x 80ft x 22ft box covered with reflective surfaces, and Armstrong measured its reverb time at 7.5 seconds. However, the church had determined that they could place a generous stage along one of the long walls and still accommodate 900 church members.

"Diffusion panels would help kill the rather extreme flutter echo," Armstrong explained, "but there was still a massive slap-back echo from the back wall to the stage." To combat the problem, dB Audio and Video designed a regiment of two-inch absorption panels and installed them along the back wall. In its first incarnation, the Pet Shop Boys production drew on uniquely-designed mobile 3-D cubes supplied by PSL which could act as projection screens, light boxes and dancers' props. In the interests of reducing the weight of the travelling set and making it more tourable, the cubes have gone. XLTV worked with production designer/show director Marc Brickman, to supply a state of the art 29ft x 56ft Barco Olite 510 LED display, which is one of the largest single displays ever used on a tour.

The system operates completely in 1080P at 24 frames per second. The pack consists of five Sony HDC-1500 High Def cameras, one of which is mounted on a flying Panavision Libra Head, a MFS 2000 switcher, two V1-HD Doremi playback units and recording on Sony HDW 2000 VTR's.

For Jack and Meg White's latest album Icky Thump received the best form of promotion when the cover was simultaneously exploded across Marble Arch (at the north end of the Park) and Constitution Arch at the south.

Sensing a great promotional opportunity, the band's label, XL Recordings, contacted the concert division of PSL Events. Hulskamp in the Netherlands has renewed its DLP projector fleet taking delivery of SLM R12+, FLM HD18 and XLM HD30 projectors. The design debuted in London's Hyde Park, where Faithless was one of the headline acts at the O2 Wireless Festival. Lighting director Jvan Morandi has conceived a visually stunning backdrop for the show, which has been realised by PSL's Pod Bluman and team, using the latest high-resolution projectors from Christie, bought by PSL especially for this event and other summer/autumn touring commitments.

Morandi's design was based around 18 8ft x 6ft rear-projection screens, split into a 6 x 3 matrix. He specified 40,000 ANSI lumens to front-project onto each block of six displays, a brightness quotient dictated by the fact that Faithless go on-stage around 8.30pm when there is still high ambient light.
