Russia - The Spy Moscow Club in the city’s Triumphal Square has specified a matched system of Nexo Geo S12 and PS Series loudspeakers.
The installation was completed by DJSOUND Company, which had to design a system that fitted with the club interior and met the most stringent audio performance requirements.
“The system had to provide uniform coverage with awesome sound quality,” explained Gulya Zaripova of Nexo’s Russian distributor SIM. “The Spy Moscow club has a varied itinerary of entertainments and events; live music, DJs and karaoke, as well as background music, so the system had to work across all those applications. And the club wanted it installed within very tight deadlines.”

Europe - German fibre network company BroaMan has reported an “overwhelmingly successful launch” of its new Repeat8-NANO and Mux22-Intercom devices, which were introduced to distributors, broadcasters and the media at this year’s IBC 2017 in Amsterdam.
According to technical sales manager Maciek Janiszewski the response from customers in this sector could not have been more positive. He said: “Despite other similar products populating the market there remains a constant need for smaller interfaces, which we have identified - and one with the ability to handle 12G-SDI and 4K transmission for which this is perfect. We have reduced the channel count and size from the original Repeat48, but have maintained the same highest quality.”

The sound for this multi-cultural extravaganza was designed by Live Systems, who used an Adamson S10 line array loudspeaker system. The company supplied all of the technical equipment for the Edinburgh Mela 2017.

With two Red Evolution mic pre’s, stereo line outs and a stereo headphone amplifier, the RedNet X2P allows quick I/O and monitoring expansion of Focusrite RedNet or other Dante audio-over-IP systems. The project focused on the site’s two-level Assembly Hall, a Grade II listed space that is primarily used for conferences and meetings.

Malaysia - Australia-based Norwest Productions provided the audio for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Southeast Asian Games (SEA) Games held in Kuala Lumpur in August.
DiGiCo SD5s positioned at Front of House, SD9s deployed for audio patch control, and SD8s at the closing ceremony’s monitor position.
Norwest was introduced to the project by Nick Eltis, technical director for entertainment production company Technick, who was consulting on the ceremonies for Memories Entertainment (Malaysia). Norwest was asked to provide a turnkey audio service, from audio design and supply, through to crew and operation of all audio requirements, which included six DiGiCo consoles and an L-Acoustics loudspeaker system, which included 100 Kudo and 48 KS28 cabinets.

Brazil - Lawo mc²96 Grand Production Console was used by Brazillian TV programmer Globosat during this year's Rock in Rio.
Globosat’s use of the mc²96 console was part of a rental package of equipment, support and training provided by Lawo for the event. The first mc²96 sale had been made prior to Rock in Rio, with two consoles having been purchased by Viacom Media Networks (USA).
Through Latin American system integrator and Lawo partner LineUp Broadcast Systems, Lawo provided Globosat with a 40-fader mc²96 fitted with Ravenna, AES and MADI Cards, along with a Sample-Rate Converter and a Compact Core for the console. The annual festival took place between 6 and 16 of July in the courtyard of the iconic Neoclassical building on the Thames. 2017 marked Misch's Summer Series debut, joining other British and international festival headliner stars including Norah Jones, Goldfrapp and Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley.

Martin Audio’s territory distributor k24 Technik & Vertrieb supported its customer, service provider Sound & Light Systems, who fielded a premium MLA Compact PA on the main stage, while lighting was provided by Powerland.

UK - The beginning of June saw Robbie Williams kick off his Heavy Entertainment Show tour on home turf at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium. The tour has continued throughout the summer, taking in stadiums, fields and arenas across the UK and Europe.
The tour’s audio requirements are provided by Robbie’s long-term supplier Britannia Row Productions (Brit Row) and has DiGiCo’s flagship SD7 consoles at both the Front of House and monitor positions.
Simon Hodge, Robbie’s Front of House engineer, has been using an SD7 for the last six years and continues to rely on it to handle this complex show. Jonathan Digby takes care of monitors, keeping the seat warm for Robbie’s long-standing monitor engineer, Pete Mc Glynn, who is recovering from an accident he had shortly before the tour took off. China - Amadeus has announced a 50-speaker install with '3D Sound' control. The sound system compliments 20 giant 'soft LED' screens and performances of 700 actors in China's first live event dramatizing the historical 1938 Xi'an Incident - which is credited with creating modern China.
The State-run theatre is located in the exact location where the Xi'an Incident happened. China - Multinational flight case hardware and 19-inch racking manufacturer Penn Elcom has opened a new 2000sq.m distribution centre close to Beijing, which will run in conjunction with its busy manufacturing operation in Guangdong.
The company hopes holding a large amount of stock for immediate dispatch in a major commercial hub like Beijing will further boost the speed and delivery of products across mainland China and to Penn’s Asia-wide operation.
“We needed to invest to fuel further growth,” explained Penn Elcom chairman and founder Roger Willems, “and to capitalise on those flightcase users in all sectors who are requesting that their case makers – our clients – utilise Penn hardware by default”.
