USA - Christie has added two new LCD projectors to its extensive product line-up - the Christie LWU420 and the Christie LW555. The LWU420 targets professional users demanding WUXGA high resolution and the LW555 fills the need for an affordable WXGA high brightness widescreen projector, says the company.

The Christie LWU420 is a 4200 lumens projector with WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution, making it suitable for small to medium sized venues including video conference rooms, meeting rooms and training rooms.

USA - Midas and Klark Teknik have launched a raft of new products at InfoComm 2010 in Las Vegas.

The new products were unveiled at a press launch held yesterday, and comprised two additions to the PRO Series, the PRO3 and PRO9; the XL8i; a new range of Midas digital snakes and new digital audio format and sample rate converters from Klark Teknik.

The PRO9 tops the Midas PRO Series, providing an 88 channel input count and 35 buses, while the "cost-effective" Midas PRO3 will allow more touring riders and professional installations to take advantage of Midas' digital features.

The XL8i is a top-of-the-range addition Midas' digital audio line-up created with the install, theatre and house of worship market in mind.

Barco's new collaboration box, the XDS-100 enables quick and efficient decision-making in the meeting room by allowing users to display, drag and resize several sources on-screen simultaneously. UK - eMerging, the UK distributors for Digital Audio Denmark's high-end A-D and D-As, has sold four DAD AX24 converters to EMI's Abbey Road Studios, for use in the Abbey Road Mobile. All four are equipped with plug-in MADI options, and two include DAD's new direct Pro Tools HD interface card.

Abbey Road Studios engineer Jonathan Allen, who undertook test recordings with the AX24 before Abbey Road purchased the units, comments, "For the last few years, the Abbey Road Mobile Recording unit has been looking to create affordable recording and editing packages without compromising on quality. Key to this was our search for a unit which had world-class digital converters, great built-in mic amps and the ability to run MADI back to the control room. UK - Artistic Licence has announced the release of a new range of exterior / interior LED products called Flexi-Strip.

Flexi-Strip is a range of standard LEDs on a flexible circuit board, encapsulated within a flexible, clear silicone tube. Rated at IP67, the encapsulated housing protects Flexi-Strip's LEDs from moisture, dust and damage making it suitable for both internal and external applications, in dry or wet conditions. Each strip is backed by a self-adhesive tape so it can be attached quickly and easily in any location.

Flexi-Strip comes in a variety of colour options, full colour RGB, warm white and cool white. The RGB colour mixing versions comes in Bright and Super-Bright intensities.

UK - 5 Star Cases will be exhibiting at the Farnborough International Airshow 2010 (FIA) which takes place 19-25 July. The exhibition runs for seven days, and attracts trade visitors from around the world plus a huge public interest.

5 Star will be showcasing specialist cases aimed primarily at the aerospace, military and engineering sectors, all of which will be displayed on a purpose-built exhibition stand designed specially for FIA 2010. The stand was also built by the 5 Star team at their facility in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

It is the first time that 5 Star has participated in the show. "It reflects a growing interest from new sectors in our products, and our intention to diversify and expand," explains Keith Sykes. In the past 2 years, 5 Star has designed and built bespoke tool cases for the Red Bull Air Race pilots and also cased a number of racing cars.

USA - Waves Audio has responded to the difficulties facing the 2010 FIFA World Cup telecasts by unveiling a solution that "dramatically reduces the problematic sound of the omnipresent Vuvuzela trumpet avoured by South African soccer fans". In response to the widely publicised complaints from TV viewers and broadcasters about the continuous Vuvuzela blasts, Waves engineers began devising a solution to decrease the amount of noise.
