Italy - Studio Due's CS 1 line of projectors has been enhanced with two new options which allow more versatile use, say the company. Available in the halogen lamp version or the discharge lamp version, the new options are designed to produce a diffuse white light (with various beam/lens options). Unlike the company's motorized projectors created for high power stage use, this CS1 offers a range of white light, combined with noiseless operation, due to its innovative construction and the lack of cooling fans. The fixtures are especially suitable for exhibitions, theatres and museums and other environments requiring precise beam positioning.

UK - Denon has overhauled its popular DN-D4000 professional dual CD/MP3 rack-mount player, introducing a number of new features. Known as the DN-D4500, the new playback device features vastly-extended MP3 functionality - including hot starts - which will come as great news for the mobile and club DJ requiring a simple workhorse with high reliability.

Launched at CEDIA Expo 2005 UK, the unit has a 3.5" backlit LCD screen, giving it a discreet presence and enabling it to fit in a standard double gang backbox. UK - The world's first high-definition LCD projector has been added to the rental fleet of PSL. The event supplier has purchased the 5500 ANSI lumens Sanyo PLV-HD10, further consolidating a long relationship between the two companies. "This is the first LCD HD product to the market anywhere in the world, and PSL will be one of only two hire companies in the UK to have it in their fleet," declared Sanyo's Crispin Piney. "We understand that PSL see this is as opening up a huge range of opportunities - the cost benefits over triple-chip DLP are enormous."

L-Acoustics has introduced the Soundvision Venue Database, which will allow Sound Engineers to download venue data from the L-Acoustics website and immediately incorporate their given speaker configuration in the pre-modeled venue. The database consists of Soundvision.SVS room data files that have been organized according to venue name, city and country. The goal is to be able to share information among sound designers and L-Acoustics touring sound engineers. This will save time and give more accurate, predictable results with a higher level of overall system performance than was previously possible.

UK - Arcstream AV recently introduced the poolSystem for which it has secured exclusive distribution in the UK, Ireland, and the Middle East. The poolSystem is an interactive floor projection system, which creates visual surprises in a 'pool' - of water, leaves, grass or anything else you care to name. As people walk through the pool of water it ripples, complete with realistic sound and if there are fish in the water, the shoal will turn and swim away. Denmark - Martin Professional's line of popular, award-winning MAC moving heads is expanding with the launch of the new MAC 700 Profile which squeezes as much into the fixture as possible, while maintaining the same fixture size as the MAC 550. UK - Denon Professional's best-selling DN-V300 DVD players have advanced with new features and control functionality following a collaborative venture between D&M Europe and software specialists Designer Systems. Based in Cornwall, Designer Systems has created a range of controllers and interfaces, implemented on the DN-V300, which expand the unit's control capabilities in media presentation and EPOS applications.

Designer Systems' new range of control interfaces connect to the DN-V300 via the unit's serial RS232 port. Initially four products have been announced: DVD-DSPRX proximity detector. Typically used in a kiosk environment, where a DVD player system is used to provide POS and EPOS advertising, the DSPRX will detect the motion of a passer-by via infrared sensor, and control the playback of media accordingly.

The new B-10 is a cost-effective mobile LED solution incorporating Barco's SLite 10 outdoor LED screen modules. As a fully self-contained unit with display, image processor and internal power supply, the B-10 can be set up by one person and can be ready to operate in less than 15 minutes, say the company.
