Spain - As the popularity of multi-functional cabinets increases with rental companies, HK Audio's T-Series model VT 115 X, has been enjoying steadily increasing international success. This 15"/2" cabinet can be used as a stand-alone system, as a mid/high unit together with HL 118 subwoofers, as a down-fill in conjunction with the R-Series touring system, or as a floor monitor (as during the last Deep Purple world tour or the most recent episodes of the BBC live show Later with Jools Holland).

The VT 115 X offers interesting features and well thought-out accessories that make it even more flexible and easier to use, such as a switch to select either passive or biamp mode, aeroquip flying tracks, M10 threads, suitable mounting yokes or HK Audio's own TripleTilt pole-mount adapter, which allows for three different mounting angles.

USA - The long-anticipated option to upgrade from halogen lamps to LEDs has arrived, thanks to a new speciality coloured LED lamp launched by OptiLED. Bernadette Olson at San Francisco-based Laser Reflections was one of the first in line to upgrade. Within a week of seeing the new lamps at Lighting Dimensions International (LDI) in November 2002, Bernadette had replaced 50W halogen spotlights at the Laser Reflections gallery with 2W LEDs.

The major benefits to the gallery, the world's most advanced holographic imaging studio, are three-fold: power consumption has been reduced from 750W to 30W, so reducing costs; the light output is confined to a narrow band, giving improved contrast and superior visual quality; and the long-life element means there'll be no need to replace them for about 20 years. Olson sees the launch of CHIP lamps as an exciting development, suggesting that th

The Netherlands - In less than three months, Electric Audio BV has found takers for three complete EV XLC systems. Since the summer of 2000, the team led by Axel Nagtegaal, managing director of Electric Audio BV, has been pulling out all the stops with its marketing: advertisements placed in all relevant magazines, demos and comparative tests are just as much a part of the business repertoire of this Almere-based EV and Klark Teknik distributor as regular direct mailing, intensive customer service and a range of made-to-measure campaigns targeted at dealers and rental companies. The EV Europool, a loose association of Electro-Voice users that today comprises seven sound companies and offers many advantages to its members, is another idea that originated in Electric Audio BV. The slogan of the company is 'We power your ambition'.
