German trade journal Soundcheck recently tested some Eurolite spots with the new technology with "impressive results across the board". The testers' special focus was put on the colour illustration and the colour mixture: "The colour mixture of the Eurolite COB spots is really excellent. UK - The Nicolaudie Group's smartphone and tablet software company LightingSoft AG has introduced EasyRemote-­? a smartphone and tablet app which allows users to remotely control a wide range of DMX lighting software packages over a local network. The product will be highlighted at PLASA 2012 (Earls Court, 9-12 September).

A customized screen including buttons, faders, dials, XY grids and colour wheels can be built using a designer included with the lighting control software or with the EasyRemote app. When the app is started, all compatible software instances are detected over a WiFi network and the screen is automatically built. The EasyRemote app is compatible with iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Android smartphones and tablets. Supported lighting control software packages include Easy Stand Alone 2, Sunlite Suite 2, LumiDesk and Daslight Virtual Controller 3.

UK - LDR's Fabiano Besio has announced that a new range of powerful 200W LED zoom profiles called Alba will be exhibited at the PLASA Show in London (Earls Court, 9-12 September 2012).

UK - coolux Pandoras Box 5.1 software release is now available and will be highlighted by its UK distributor TMB at the PLASA Show (9-12 September, Earls Court).

Building on the success of Pandoras Box Version 5.0 launched at PLASA last fall, over 50 distinct improvements and upgrades have been added, including Media Encryption, 3D Warping, and a new Matrix Patcher.

"The new user-friendly Version 5.1 software package makes Pandoras Box a yet more powerful creative tool, uniting state-of-the-art rendering technology with intuitive live media and show control," says the company.

Spain - Work has recently released the first EASE data files (.gll format) available for its products. With it, Work provides "a first class tool to audio engineers, in order to evaluate and predict acoustic performance in a determined area".

UK - Due to be displayed at PLASA 2012 (Earls Court, 9-12 September) the Ghost is the latest stylish lectern from The Lectern Company which designs and manufactures upmarket lecterns. The company has widened its portfolio with the introduction of an acrylic lectern to complement its successful alloy range.

The Ghost has been designed so that the built-in features which have made Lectern Company lecterns so popular have not been compromised, says the company. The new Bose ControlSpace SP-24 simplifies audio DSP for 2x4 installed and portable applications by offering two methods of configuration based on user preference and loudspeaker type.
