UK - Sony has announced the launch of its newest wireless microphone series, the new 2.4GHz DWZ. This, the company says, "combines ease of use, superb RF transmission reliability and high sound quality into four affordable and highly flexible packages".

The new 2.4GHz DWZ series includes combinations of hand-held mics, bodypack transmitters and rack-mount or compact size receivers, with various components for use by musicians, or in classroom, corporate, house of-worship or government applications, the company says.

Germany - Fohhn Audio has announced the release of its new PT-6 compact, high-performance loudspeaker system with integrated line array technology. The loudspeaker, previewed at this year's Frankfurt Prolight + Sound, has been specially developed to offer both powerful coverage and easy set-up. Designed for stand-mounted, stacked or flown applications, the PT-6 essentially combines three of Fohhn's widely used PT-8 line array modules in a single compact unit weighing just 39kg.

Sporting a twin coaxial speaker construction, the PT-6 contains 6 x 6.5" long excursion neodymium and 3 x 1.4" compression drivers with a specially developed HF phase EQ. USA - A spectacular visual display guaranteed heavy traffic at dnp denmark's InfoComm booth. Backed up by further exposure of their Supernova Infinity and Supernova One displays on the Digital Projection booth, the Danish company left Las Vegas confident of securing orders and cementing new partnerships.

According to dnp global sales manager, Soeren Kraemmergaard, the upgraded Supernova Flex Classic, Supernova Core II and new Supernova STS, Short Throw screen had been particularly well received.

"With an attendance of 34,000, traffic overall at the show was up 4% up on last year - but more importantly, it felt like the leads we picked up this year were more qualified than previously," he said.

Spain - D.A.S. Audio has introduced a white paint finish for a variety of their most popular products. The white colour option will facilitate the integration of the D.A.S. systems in the décor of permanent installations such as houses of worship, auditoriums and multipurpose venues.

The new Bose ControlSpace SP-24 simplifies audio DSP for 2x4 installed and portable applications by offering two methods of configuration based on user preference and loudspeaker type.

Fast system setup is achieved using front-panel LCD menus and controls, which offer a basic method of configuration for systems using Bose loudspeakers. The Netherlands - At IBC 2012, DPA Microphones will show a range of microphones that are ideally suited to broadcast applications.

Among the products on show will be DPA's expanded d:fine series of headset microphones and the new d:facto vocal mic that made its debut earlier this year at Prolight + Sound.

UK - Allen & Heath has launched the ZED60-14FX, a highly compact analogue mixer that is designed for small bands and venues. ZED60-14FX is a companion to the ZED60-10FX launched earlier this year, employing the same 60mm faders but with the addition of an extra four mono/mic channels.

Two of the eight mono channels have high impedance jack inputs that can take a normal line level or a low level input from a guitar pickup, so guitars can be plugged straight into the mixer without the need for DI boxes. These inputs have been crafted to recreate the sound of a classic tube preamp in a combo or head amp for incredible definition and warmth. Two stereo inputs are provided for MP3/CD players or keyboards.

Germany - HK Audio's has extended its Elements series with the introduction of Elements Plus and Elements Install.

The Elements Plus E 835 is a mid/high unit that "provides even greater flexibility and power than its older brother (the E 435) when you want to set up bigger systems". Loaded with eight speakers, it can handle 300 watts at 8 ohms' impedance. The E 835 and E 435 mid/high units' design and tuning are identical, so combining them is easy.

The new E 210 Sub AS system subwoofer comes with two 1,200-watt amps in its engine room. Power amp number one drives the two internal 10" woofers, with plenty of juice left over to run an external passive type L Sub 1200. UK - Allen & Heath has released a major firmware and driver update for its recording console, the GS-R24. The new firmware includes integrated support of the HUI protocol for direct integration with DAW applications with HUI MIDI control presets, such as ProTools and Reaper, and users also benefit from a range of enhancements to the FireWire interface driver.

HUI, which synchronises DAW software and connected hardware devices, is now emulated by three virtual MIDI ports in the GS-R24's new firmware, tunnelled over the mixer's FireWire connection. This means that for GS-R24M mixers equipped with the FireWire interface, a third party translator is no longer essential.

A new set of DAW Resource Packs is also available online, with step-by-step instructions and template projects to aid the set-up of popular recording software.
