As is becoming its habit at ABTT, theatre sound specialist Orbital announced a major product addition to its portfolio - Zaxcom's wireless microphone systems. The TRX900 transceiver's features include a built-in IFB (interruptible fold back) receiver and a six-hour internal recording facility with Timecode. Other features include RF remote control of body pack; and digital drop-out protection. Also from Zaxcom, the TRX990 is designed for boom pole applications and, the manufacturer says, "takes the place of a traditional wireless transmitter, a 48V phantom power supply, an IFB receiver and a walkie talkie".
