Poland - Powersoft’s Mover haptic technology provided the foundation for a bold reimagining of Bania Music Club, a popular nightclub and entertainment venue at the four-star Hotel Bania Thermal & Ski resort in southern Poland.
Installed beneath the club’s dancefloor by Krakow-based integrator Grupa CLUE, the Mover system turns low-frequency audio into powerful tactile vibrations, allowing guests to physically feel the music as it pulses through the floor and into the body.
The integration of more than 30 Mover transducers at Bania Music Club – part of a wider update of the club’s AVL systems – has created an inclusive, accessible club experience that engages the senses in ways traditional sound systems alone cannot, explains Jarosław Repeć, Polish sales manager for Bose Professional, whose audio processors, controllers and loudspeakers were also used in the installation.
Highlighting how Mover, in combination with the Bose speakers, can be used to enhance the nightclub experience for those with hearing loss, Repeć says: “This floor can help them enjoy the experience, too – even deaf people can benefit, as they can feel the rhythm through the floor. It’s important that nightclubs don’t forget about people with hearing difficulties.”
Despite being located directly beneath hotel rooms, the cutting-edge AV technology installed in the new-look Bania Music Club means the venue is able to offer patrons an uncompromised nightclub experience. The Mover transducers focus their energy directly into the dancefloor, while the highly controlled Bose Professional sound system and directional subwoofer configuration keeps bass energy contained within the space, preserving quiet in surrounding areas.
The installation also makes use of Powersoft’s Dante-enabled Quattrocanali 4804 DSP+D amplifiers, which interface with a fully networked AV-over-IP infrastructure, along with a 130” Samsung LED wall, Crestron automation system, and immersive lighting controlled via DMX.
Powersoft’s patented low-frequency direct-drive/tactile transducer, Mover, lets audiences feel the sound by vibrating the surrounding environment, which is in turn picked up by the human body and transmitted via bone conduction to the inner ear, translating the vibrations into perceivable frequencies. In addition to dancefloors, Mover is adaptable to a wide range of applications, including 4D cinemas and theme parks.
“The technology can be adapted and used in different environments, especially schools, museums, theatres and clubs,” elaborates Francesco Cionini, business development manager, EMEA, for Powersoft. “As a compact 9cm cube, Mover can be installed anywhere – for example, under the floor or under a seat – and in all cases enhances the immersive experience.”
Following the Grupa CLUE-led AVL upgrade at Hotel Bania – now the proud owner of the first immersive dancefloor in Poland – Cristiano Traferri, Powersoft house account professional leader, is confident that the project marks the first of many Mover installations in the country. “Bania Music Club is the first project we have delivered with Mover in Poland, thanks to the trust placed in us by Grupa CLUE,” he comments. “But we are so positive for the future; this is just the beginning and the best is yet to come.”
