USA - Rat Sound Systems is marking its 19th year of providing sound reinforcement at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. The Camarillo-based company debuted Outline’s Newton 16+8 audio processing units as its processor of choice.

USA - Submissions are now open for the 2019 edition of the Knight of Illumination Awards USA (KOI-USA).
The event, which is the USA edition of the UK's respected Knight of Illumination Awards, first took place in 2018 to celebrate the talents and work of lighting and video designers across the sectors of Live for Broadcast, Theatre and Concert Touring & Events in the United States.
This year's competition features two new categories – Opera and Corporate Events – and the award ceremony and gala dinner is taking place in Las Vegas on 22 November (Friday) alongside the LDI trade show.

USA - Lighting and video rental specialist 4Wall Entertainment has invested in new Kinesys automation equipment with the purchase of 36 x Elevation vari-speed chain hoists, 36 x LibraCELL load monitoring shackles, two K2 control consoles and numerous Kinesys Vector control systems.
This substantial purchase is for general stock and reflects the growing trend and demand for automation systems as part of shows, events, touring lighting and video systems as well as set element motion.

UK - North Yorkshire-based lighting rental company R&M Productions has acquired a large stock of Martin by Harman’s MAC Viper Profiles.
Peter Shorten of R&M Productions says: “The MAC Viper Profile is regarded by many as the industry standard in large format spots. We’ve been supplying them to meet riders for the last couple of years and have had client demand for them, so it seemed like the natural progression to make them our next major investment.”

UK - 4Wall Entertainment, a US-based provider of lighting and video rentals, sales, and services, has reached an agreement in principle to acquire the assets of HSL Group Holdings Ltd. of Blackburn, UK.
As part of the agreement, the majority of HSL's staff would remain on-board and the facility and location would be rebranded as 4Wall UK, creating the first international presence for 4Wall. The company currently has 10 locations in the US.
Under the agreement current HSL MD Simon Stuart would lead the sales team of the UK branch, assuming the role of VP of Business Development for 4Wall UK. The entirety of the HSL sales team is expected to move forward with the 4Wall branch as well, continuing to serve their current customer bases while also pursuing new business.
