Germany - 100 ADJ fixtures were deployed by production companies Laserframe and Creative Sounds Veranstaltungstechnik across two stages at the recent Into The Madness festival in Zülpich.
Vizi Beam RX2 moving heads and Jolt Bar FXIP linear LED fixtures created the effects in the Core arena, while IP65-rated Hydro Beam X12 automated luminaires filled the night sky above the open-air Dunes stage.
Located within a huge ‘big top’ tent, the Core stage at Into The Madness festival 2025 was dedicated to Uptempo and Hardcore dance music. Working collaboratively, Laserframe and Creative Sounds Veranstaltungstechnik were responsible for the complete technical production of the area and pulled out all the stops to create a visual spectacular.
At the centre of the stage was an octagonal truss structure, flanked on each side by mirrored pairs of C-shaped trusses. Each corresponding pair of trusses was positioned further out from the central structure and further forward towards the front of the stage, such that together they wrapped around the performance space. Five of ADJ’s Jolt Bar FXIP linear LED fixtures lined each of these trusses, rigged to point directly out towards the crowd.
“The Jolt Bar FXIP has become indispensable for all of our stage designs,” says Guido Schütz, owner of LaserFrame. “Its combination of colour mixing LEDs with powerful white LEDs allows for both vibrant colour washes and blinding strobe effects, add to this zone control for both LED types and the possibilities are endless! It can also be used alongside the regular Jolt Bar FX when IP isn't needed, which offers us added logistical flexibility at busy times.”
Eight of ADJ’s Vizi Beam RX2 dedicated beam luminaires were also rigged to each of the C-shaped trusses, allowing the stage to be filled with sharp aerial effects.
“Since the RXONE has served us faithfully for many years, and continues to do so, it was an obvious choice for us to now invest in the same number of its successor, the RX2,” states Guido. “What impressed us most on this job was the speed and precision of these fixtures, which were able to keep up with the intense pace of the music played on the Core stage while also landing exactly where they needed to be for static cues.”
To enhance the aerial effects generated by the lighting fixtures, two of ADJ’s Entour Venue professional-grade mobile ‘faze’ machines were positioned at either side of the stage. In addition, two of ADJ’s Fog Fury 3000 machines were also deployed to generate thick plumes of atmospheric fog.
Laserframe and Creative Sounds Veranstaltungstechnik were also responsible for supplying lighting to the open-air Dunes stage. Located on a lakeside beach, this area was dedicated to classic tracks and summer vibes. All the lighting for this significantly smaller stage was ground stacked. Eight additional Jolt Bar fixtures were mounted in pairs to vertical pipes, two on either side of the DJ booth. Meanwhile, eight of ADJ’s IP65-rated Hydro Beam X12 moving head beam fixtures were positioned directly on the stage, four on each side of the DJ.
Although utilising a much smaller rig, the lighting on the Dunes stage was nevertheless effective. When night fell, the Jolt Bars bathed the dancers on the beach with vibrant colours interspersed with sharp strobe flashes, while the Hydro Beams filled the night sky with piercing beams, visible from across the festival’s extensive site.
