UK - Roland Systems Group has announced the release of the Mac/PC S-4000RCS Version 2.3 control software for the stand-alone Digital Snake and M-48 personal mixing system. The S-4000RCS is the setup and control software for the personal mixing and digital snake systems when a Roland V-Mixer is not part of the configuration. This software enables the M-48 personal mixers and other Digital Snake products to be used stand-alone or with any other console.

These software updates offer workflow improvements such as resizable windows that allow the user to simply drag the assignment window out for the M-48 to see all 40 sources down one side and 16 groups across the top. UK - Adlib's sales and installation division supplied an L-Acoustics Kara sound system to Scarborough Open Air Theatre, North Yorkshire, UK, which featured concerts by JLS, John Barrowman, Olly Murs, Alexandra Burke, Russell Watson and many more in its 2012 Summer Season.

Liverpool based Adlib were contacted by Scarborough based P&L Sound & Lighting to present a joint proposal to supply and service the venue with audio equipment, which was put out for tender by Scarborough Borough Council.

Once their bid was successful, the two companies also collaborated closely with L-ACOUSTICS and the Council to ensure that all their sonic requirements were met.

Belarus - Jennifer Lopez's dynamic Dance Again World Tour came alive in Minsk with the help of a super-bright rig of Clay Paky luminaires.

Lighting designer Sean Burke's vision was for a fast-paced lighting show to match Lopez's dance-inspired music and passionate choreography - and it was met by Belarus'-based Ilya Piatrouski of FE Belimlight whose inventory of Clay Paky fixtures stepped up to the challenge.

"Arriving in Minsk, all luminaires needed to be sourced locally, so we were relying on local supplier Belimlight to come up with the goods," explains Burke. "The system was to comprise of Clay Paky units in the majority. Given the quantity of fixtures required for the performance we had a mixture of different types of Alpha profile and spot fixtures. Having not used them many times I was looking forward to seeing what they could do."

Driven by Lawo's Marcel Babazadeh, himself a tonmeister and accomplished classical musician, the aim of the tour was to explore the secrets of creating the best possible sound for classical music with a live PA system. Innovason and Lawo teamed up with Neumann and Sennheiser to present six workshops in six different venues across Europe.

UK - Preparing for the new 2013 catalogue, members of the Dirty Rigger team were sent into the freezing cold at the Xscape Snow Dome in Milton Keynes. With no better place to capture Dirty Rigger's new SubZer0 Cold Weather Gloves in action, the team were subjected to freezing surface temperatures as low as -15C throughout the shoot.

Dirty Rigger's product manager Steve Marshall says, "The cold weather gloves were outstanding. This is the first time I have personally used them in such a cold and demanding condition and they did not disappoint.
