UK / The Netherlands - TV One will be demonstrating their new LM-1920R and LM-1520R at ISE 2011 next month.

These are colour LCD Monitors for the professional market. Also included is an integrated swivel stand on the rear of both units to allow table top use if desired.

Both models feature high brightness, Active Matrix LCD Displays with wide viewing angles, PIP and POP. They are flicker-free, low radiation, space saving, feature low power consumption. NTSC and PAL Television Standards are supported and automatically detected, says the company.

USA - Elation Professional has introduced the Antari F-3 Fazer. This new DMX-compatible 800W water-based dry fog machine comes integrated in its own steel flight case. The F-3 Fazer's case design also makes it easily stackable, so it can be packed up and transported with no fuss and hassle - and ready to roll anytime the show goes on the road, says the company.

Featuring Antari's pump system, it produces "a fine, dry fog with minimal fluid consumption". For example, just one liter of fog liquid will provide five hours of continuous fogging, so each bottle of fluid lasts longer and less time is spent re-filling the machine.

"The Antari F-3 Fazer is an advanced water-based dry fog machine that's ideal for a variety of applications," said Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional, the exclusive North American distributor for Antari products. &quo

USA - Positioned as "the digital mixing solution for all sizes of sound company or user", the Soundcraft Si Compact Series was launched at NAMM 2011.

At the show Keith, Watson, Harman's marketing director for mixers said, "We've had a fantastic reaction to the 24 fader model launched at PLASA in September. Being 19" rack mounted, the 16 is our response to massive demand from our clients in live sound including Houses of Worship, installed systems, theatres and corporate events."

With full DSP functionality built-in to a small-footprint chassis, the Si Compact range provides up to 40 inputs to mix in three frame sizes. Motorised faders with Soundcraft FaderGlow operate on two layers, but the main difference from similarly priced mixers is the provision of a full encoder set for all the functions on a channel, from input gain through EQ and dynamics to b

UK - XTA has introduced the DP548 Dynamic Audio Processor. "You can think of the DP548 as 'a DP448 on steroids', but that only paints part of the picture," says XTA sales & marketing director, Bill Woods. "Think of a standard DP448 - fully loaded with a 28-band EQ, eight parametric EQs and delay on every input; high pass, low pass, nine parametric EQs and delay, plus a combination of two limiters, including the look-ahead "D-Max" limiter on each output.

"Then add three bands of Dynamic EQ on every input, a variable knee compressor on every output with full control over ratio, threshold, attack and release times. On top of all that, include full matrix mixing of any input to any output or mix of outputs and provide memory recallable dynamic EQ for the first time via AudioCore, and that is the power and potential of the DP548."

Canada - The University of Lethbridge in Alberta recently installed an Aviom Pro16 Personal Mixing System, to serve a multitude of functions for the school including music recording, theatre production and traditional campus events. Primarily purchased to support the University's new educational and commercial studio, the A-16II Personal Mixers are also included in the curriculum for the school's new Bachelor of Music in Digital Audio Arts programme.

The Aviom Personal Mixers afford students the ability to quickly and easily create their own cue mixes from content provided by an SSL Duality Console. Because the A-16IIs simplify the job of monitor mixing, they allow the production students to place their full attention on recording procedures.

"The Aviom Personal Mixers take away the need for beginner students to worry about monitor mixes, giving them time to focus on othe

UK - X-Factor's lighting programmer William Peachment from Little Mouse Productions once again integrated several Hippotizer media servers for the most recent X-Factor set up, working with four Hippotizer systems and using a total of seven outputs.

All machines were networked via HippoNet and controlled remotely by Green Hippo's ZooKeeper control software. The individual monitors on each machine allowed the operator, Russ Grujbiak, to easily see and access all outputs.

Using one Hippotizer HD, one HippoCritter and two Hippotizer Stages, Peachment controlled all video and digital lighting via these four systems.

The Hippotizer HD fed the centre screen from one output and the side screens from the second output, with these screens going via a scan converter to the vision mixer so that they could be switched. The HippoCritter with its one output was used to drive the two Olite

UK - The Royal Variety Performance at The London Palladium showcased over 30 acts in the presence of HRH Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Undertaking the lighting design for a rarely offered second year, lighting designer Steve Nolan and associate Tim Routledge took the opportunity to use the newly launched PixelSmart from PixelRange.

"When you have so many different acts to manage, you need as many tricks up your sleeve as possible - and the PixelSmart certainly helped with that. It can do so many different things. It can be a wash light, it can be an effect, anything, but we used it mainly as 'sparkle'"

The PixelSmart luminaires, 24 in number, were positioned facing straight out towards the audience -distributed across four lighting towers at the back of the stage. Controlled via a grandMA lighting console. "Instead of talking to the PixelSmart a

UK - When Sonalyst MD Rory Madden was asked to supply full, new build audio distribution and ground control infrastructure for the We Will Rock You tour in just nine weeks, he knew time was against him. "Normally, for a show of that scale and complexity, you'd feel up against it given three or four months to prepare. In this case, we had just nine weeks so our choice of technical partner was absolutely vital."

One of the first things Madden did was drop in to VDC's premises in North London. He reports, "I'd worked with VDC before on a few smaller projects and had a strong feeling they would be the right choice, based on the technical expertise, manufacturing quality and ability to work to very short deadlines. But I just wanted to drop in for a chat and see their facilities for myself, before even talking about the We Will Rock You project. When I le

Paraguay - After two and a half years of planning and trials, a Nexo Geo T line array has been commissioned in one of the largest churches in Latin America. Geo T's arrival in the 14,000-capacity Centro Familiar de Adoración in Asunción is the final chapter in a story that began with Oasis.

Alberto Martinez is the manager of the sound team at the Centro Familiar de Adoración. Some years ago he was in the USA, where he heard a Nexo Geo T system running at full throttle on a concert by Oasis, and apparently was so impressed that he accepted an invitation to a demo in Argentina. Meeting with Nexo's LatAm team there convinced him that these loudspeakers were the right choice for the Asunción church project.

Working closely with Nexo's specialist installation engineers, the church's sound team explored all the design configurations thoroughly, not just through software predicti

It is possible to watch and take part in a whole range of activities inside, in an air conditioned environment that ensures comfortable surroundings all year round. It houses shops, cafés, restaurants, cinemas and multipurpose areas, which may be adapted to a rich schedule of events and shows.

The lights include new Alpha Beam 1500s, which are used especially to attract the public and during live events, and Alpha Spot HPE 300s for the interior design. The lighting system was installed by SF Dis Ticaret

UK - A 1000-seater house of worship has opened on the site of the birthplace of Aston Villa Football Club. The New Testament Church of God (NTCG) has chosen a Nexo Geo S12 sound system for its new building.

Designed by Paul Henry Architects and Project Managers Ltd, and built by Midlands-based Adonis Construction, the new church includes energy-saving features and all the mod-cons of a modern building. Funding for the project has come solely from members and friends of the church, representing a significant commitment and major investment by the community into the South Lozells/Handsworth area of Birmingham.

Nexo dealer Fuzion plc supplied a package of sound reinforcement equipment for installation by Cloud One and the NTCG's own expert, Rowen Spence, a freelance sound engineer specialising in gospel music and conferences. Key components of the new sound system were Nexo Geo S

USA - As part of an extensive renovation to the largest church in Ramona, California, Sound Image installed a JBL VRX Constant Curvature line array system in the Mountain View Community Church's (MVCC) main chapel to support its highly attended Sunday services. With the new audio solution, MVCC not only upgraded its sound to a concert-like environment, but also now provides a consistent sound level throughout the 600-person capacity space, despite challenging room acoustics.

Known for its upbeat musical services, entertaining a large and growing congregation, it was essential that MVCC provided sound that was evenly distributed throughout the venue, while also remaining at an appropriate decibel level for a house of worship.

UK - The PA system which underpinned London's New Year sound and light spectacular, produced by Jack Morton Worldwide on behalf of The Major's Office, was planned and designed by Delta Sound, working closely with A/V specialist VDC Trading.

The system, built almost entirely on VDC products and Van Damme cable delivered "flawless performance" according to Delta Sound technical manager, Mark Powell. "We spent a month in pre-production and five days on site preparing and working through our plans for the night," says Powell. "It's a very high profile event, seen on TV screens all over the world, so total reliability is a minimum requirement.

"That is exactly how it turned out. We did not experience a single glitch on the day and some thanks must go to the technical manager at VDC, Nick Chmara. He provided the honest and reliable advice we have come t

France - GDS were recently commissioned to deliver a bespoke stage manager's console for the world famous Théâtre du Châtelet.

The brief was to provide the theatre with a console that enabled them to integrate their control surfaces and that would give the theatre more functionality and control than they would get from a traditional stage managers desk. The client wanted to control much more than the usual stage managers functionality, requiring a product that enabled third party integration.

Théâtre du Châtelet is situated along the quays of the Seine in Paris. Constructed by Gabriel Davoud in 1862, in its time it was the largest performance hall in Paris and hosted some of the principal tours in Parisian history. The Theatre is a multi-discipline venue hosting a schedule of performances from opera to dance and progressive theatre productions.
