The implementation of a new digital sound system, by A Works Corporation, represents the final stage in a complete re-build of this 62-year old church.

The Incheon 2nd Presbyterian Church has spent the last five years engaged in a programme of reconstruction and renewal. Built in the 1940s, the church building was showing its age and its leaders took decisive action, opting to destroy the old house and design a modern replacement. Over the course of 2008, the construction of the new 1300-capacity church was completed.

Nexo was chosen as the supplier of the loudspeaker cabinets and amplifiers. A Works Corporation was named as the official installer, specifying a DiGiCo SD8 at front of house and Nexo's

UK - Christie's innovative MicroTiles are to be made available to trade customers from hire specialists, Paragon Projection.

Paragon has depots strategically situated across the UK including Central London, the Midlands and Livingston, Scotland, enabling the company to service AV and multimedia companies nationwide.

"We were first introduced to MicroTiles at Christie's [EMEA HQ] last year - but it was seeing them at the ISE Show in Amsterdam followed by Screen Media Expo in London that delivered the wow factor," said Paragon sales manager, Mark Davies. "Seeing them in a stand context, they looked really impressive."

What prompted the purchase of an initial batch of 50 tiles was the fact that Paragon see exhibition stands, along with conferences, as being key markets.

"We assessed the market for MicroTiles over a six month period - but the impact of

Indonesia - A Midas PRO6 spearheads the new performance space recently constructed for Indonesia's privately-funded University of Bunda Mulia (UBM) in North Jakarta. Chossy Pratama, one of Indonesia's most highly regarded musicians and performers and a leading recording engineer, oversaw the entire development while the console was provided by local Midas distributor PT Gracia Auvindo.

"I wanted the best, so it had to be a Midas," says Pratama. "Their analogue consoles are renowned for providing lots of gain and headroom but here, for a 21st century facility with some space constraints, I opted for a digital board."

Pratama has found that going digital has required no compromise on audio quality. "The EQ and dynamics are similar to those on the Midas Heritage console, and the EQ does exactly what I expect; the first time this has happened with a digita

China - Located in the new city of Pearl River, the Guangzhou Opera House has become one of China's three biggest theatres. Constructed from 12,000 tons of steel on a 70,000sq.m site, the Opera House includes an 1,800-seat and a 400-seat theatre. Both have been installed with L-Acoustics sound reinforcement systems supplied by Chinese distributor Rightway Audio Consultants and installed by contractor Leifull Light and Sound Enterprises.

The Guangzhou Opera House was designed by London-based architect Zaha Hadid to represent two boulder-like structures of different sizes, with a theatre located in each. The Grand Theatre in the main structure has been installed with eight Kudo line source cabinets and two SB28 high-powered subwoofers per side, with a central channel of 10 flown dV-Dosc line source cabinets. A dV-SUB subwoofer is installed on each side of the dV-Dosc array. Both t

Ireland - When Dublin-based DataShow supplied American based multinational, Boston Scientific, with a pair of dnp 120in rear projection diffusion screens for their training theatre at the International Institute for Therapy Advancement in Paris, they had hit on a winning formula.

"The theatre had to be fully equipped and we put two screens side by side with 120in diagonal Viewflex twin mirror," says DataShow MD, Gerry Browne.

That was two years ago. And the impact of those diffusion screens was such that when DataShow were asked to create a second, highly-specified lecture theatre in Galway, Gerry Browne again turned to Paradigm AV, the dnp distributors.

This time they supplied a 120" New Wide Angle display - again with a pair of dnp's adjustable Viewflex mirror rigs - and additional auxiliary projector point to ensure the rig had full redundancy. The installa

UK - Sarm Studios, based in London's Notting Hill and owned by producer, songwriter and musician Trevor Horn, has purchased a raft of new Prism Sound equipment, including three ADA-8XR multichannel modular AD/DA converters, a Maselec MLA-2 mastering compressor limiter, and a Maselec MEA-2 mastering equalizer.

"We mainly use Studio 1 at Sarm for recording and need the highest quality converters, compressors and EQs," Trevor Horn says. "My engineers, Tim Weidner and Graham Archer, rated the Prisms very highly. We record into Pro Tools and it was the integration and superior quality of the ADA-8XR that were factors in our choice. The flexibility to specify the i/o options of the converters was great as we need more AD for recording. We greatly appreciate the clean and transparent nature of the compression and EQ."

The units have already been used extensively o

Germany - Optocore has developed new Server/Client software that will facilitate simultaneous network control from multiple computers.

Prior to this latest development, the standard Optocore control software had been purely workstation-based - meaning that Optocore network control was confined to the software installed on a single computer.

"In other words, if different personnel, with their own computers, wanted to initiate simultaneous changes for different devices in the network, this would not have been possible," sayss Optocore support engineer, Christian Pötsch. "However, the Server/Client version of the software provides much greater flexibility."

By installing 'Server & Client' on one computer - connected to the Optocore network by USB or RS232 - and 'Client' on every other nominated computer the Optocore network can be controlled by enabling the

PLASA will see the UK debut of the TiMax2 SoundHub S-Version TimeLine Editor for in-depth audio showcontrol programming, featuring multi-channel waveform-based editing, looping, panning and volume profiling. Another first for PLASA is the new AES-MIO module which allows TiMax to handle multiple sample rates and clocking options across 16 AES inputs and outputs, plus 16 analogue outputs.

TiMax2 SoundHub will be joined at the show by the UWB TiMax Tracker radar system for performer tracking which makes actors'radio mic audio and other effects automatically foll

USA - EAW has announced that its DX1208 DSP Matrix Mixer now features full integration with Crestron Electronics control products, through a dedicated DX1208 module developed as part of Crestron's Integrated Partner Program (IPP).

This compatibility allows contractors and system integrators to install the DX1208 to operate seamlessly with other hardware in an open-platform Crestron systems environment. Such a system may consist of audio/video, security, HVAC, lighting and other controlled devices that may be incorporated into commercial configurations. This solves a number of problems for the contractor, as integration of disparate units is often a frustrating obstacle when setting up a new system.

The direct result of end-user feedback, the DX1208 represents the next generation of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) from EAW. Now, with full Crestron integration, the DX1208 provid
