Anders L°kke, international marketing & communications manager at projectiondesign says, "The majority of active stereoscopic projectors available in the market tend to be large and cumbersome and are mainly available only for companies with large budgets. The F10 AS3D projector is designed for the demanding scientific visualisation, simulation and entertainment environments in applications that have not been able to achieve this leve

UK - Girls Aloud are currently on the Tangled Up tour of UK arenas accompanied by Sennheiser in ear monitors and custom designed microphones. The microphones in question, five SKM 935s individually decorated with pink crystal by CrystalRoc, were warmly received by the band at the beginning of the tour.

"We revealed the mics to the girls before the final dress rehearsal in Sheffield," explains monitor engineer Nick Maddren. "I gathered the girls just before they started and pulled back the cover. There was a mix of screams, hands covering mouths and loads of excitement. The standard mics were immediately returned and the new ones disappeared like it was like Christmas day. CrystalRoc did an amazing job and the mics looked amazing."

Beneath the bling, the mics were still Sennheiser SKM 935s. "The 935 capsule was definitely the right capsule for th

USA - "The audience pays to hear Dolly and it's my job to make sure they can," says Michael Fechner, Dolly Parton's longtime house engineer and production manager who recently linked with Thunder Audio to power Parton's Backwoods Barbie world tour with a Meyer Sound system.

Parton spends much of her show telling stories, jokes and ad-libbing for the crowd. According to Fechner, the performance of the previous sound system prevented the audience from enjoying the full live experience. "The problem was we were losing a lot of that great interaction," explains Fechner.

"We were originally called in to tweak their system," notes Thunder vice president Paul Owen. "But once they realised the possibilities with the Milo system and our production services, they were sold."

The brass and woodwind military band have been discussing their ultimate wish list with A.C. UK - Swindon town centre is set to play host to the first BBC Big Screen in the South West of England as a giant Lighthouse LED screen, installed by TMC screen specialists, is officially switched on.

'Big Screen Swindon' is the first giant, permanent BBC Screen in the South West of England. It forms part of the Wharf Green development - the first area in Swindon to be redeveloped since The New Swindon Company unveiled plans to regenerate the town centre.

Following the approval of designs for the Wharf Green by LDA Design, the large screen specialists TMC was appointed to install the giant 7 x 5 panel (7.14m x 3.8m) P16i/o Lighthouse LED screen, which has been placed along the North Façade of the Brunel West car park. Creative Technology (CT) placed an early order for 163 panels. "We decided to invest in a new generation of outdoor screen and wanted a product which would raise the bar on the current generation of products, providing improvements in performance, weight and functionality," says Dave Crump, business development director for Avesco Group, parent company of CT.

The R7-ER panels were put to immediate use, after acceptance testing by CT staff being shipped straight from the Lighthouse factory to Bahrain for use at that co

UK - PSL creativity and technology helped generate the appropriate pizzazz for the after-show party for Speed Racer, the new movie directed by the Wachowski Brothers, famous for The Matrix trilogy.

Speed Racer was described by one critic as "hyper-stylised, primary-coloured and taking on the aspect of a glamorous cartoon", and PSL worked with production designer Amanda Davies from AD Events to create a suitably sensational environment for Sir Ian McKellen, Christina Ricci, Emile Hirsch and others who had attended the film's premiere.

The party's unusual location was an edgy new space in central London called P3, once a 14,000 sq.ft concrete testing facility belonging to the University of Westminster, and only recently opened as an exhibition area and venue.

With its 30' high ceiling and mezzanine gallery floor, P3 offers interesting possibiliti

This features over 1000 MiTrix tiles which are lining the 12-stepped stage set making up the floor of the performance area, and bordering six staggered overhead trusses on three sides, creating a mirror-image effect to the stage below. UK - Seafood specialists, CT Holmes has become the first trader in the new Docklands-based Billingsgate Fish Market to embrace digital signage. The new 60i" dnp UCS rear projection display installed by Digital Vision AV has given the company (which trades as Holmes Seafood) a competitive edge during the brisk early morning trading at the world-famous 900-year-old market.

Paul Mayhew, who set up Digital Vision AV two years ago, says: "They had considered hanging a plasma or LCD display but these would have been too bulky given the confined area within the shop; they would also have suffered from reflection and would have had to battle with the elements and humidity in the market."

Instead he proposed an alternative solution. The 60" Ultra Contrast Screen (supplied by UK distributors Paradigm AV) provides enhanced brightness from a lightweight chassis - and t
