Hungary - Audiovisual systems specialist, Interton, has completed a project in the Hungarian city of Debrecen. The new Kölcsey Congress Centre is the country's second largest facility of its kind and forms a multifunctional centre for Debrecen's unique cultural life.

The Kölcsey Centre includes three buildings, a Congress Centre, a Hotel and a Museum. The Congress Centre, in which Interton designed and installed all of the sound and video systems, contains a large auditorium with seating for 1,100 people, a ballroom, eight partitioned rooms and a multifunctional ballroom / exhibition space as well as a small AV studio and an impressive entrance foyer. The PID team worked closely with Cadmium Design's Paula Reason and Tina Chetnik, who specified the VersaPIXELs.

Reason is well known for designing light features into her innovative architectural and interior schemes, and recently incorporated other Element Labs products into high profile installations at the Hard Rock Café venues in London and Barcelona and for casinos in Leicester and London. USA - D.J. Willrich Ltd (DJW), the audio visual and multi-media specialists, has produced a virtual viewer for the new Jamestown Archaearium in Virginia. It provides a live view of the Fort site as it is today, however, it also presents the Fort as it would have been in 1607, in scale and in perspective superimposed on the live view to the point that visitors do a double take to make sure the Fort only exists in the virtual view.

DJW were invited by Haley Sharpe Design to help deliver their vision of virtual interpretation at the Archaearium, which is a 5000sqft interpretation centre on the archaeological discoveries at Jamestown Fort, the site of the first British Settlement in Virginia.

Germany - VLM of Mettmann, Germany has introduced a new series of dimmable LED power supplies for all 350 and 700mA high-performance LEDs. The new product range, which consists of two models (plus slave), is notable for its level of efficiency, light weight, compact dimensions and simple, practical mode of operation, says the company.

Each LED power supply is capable of dimming twelve (at 350mA) or five (at 700mA) LEDs. A unique feature, however, is the ability of the power supply to combine with up to 99 slaves each of which is capable of supplying a further twelve or five LEDs respectively, which means the entire system is capable of dimming up to 1,200 LEDs synchronously - and without any compromise in terms of safety, the SELV (safety extra-low voltage) being maintained at all times.
