"We used Optocore as a simple point to point distribution network to go long distances," reports Jim Straw, JPS' general manager. "That way we could run 600, 900 or 1000m of fibre on just one piece of cable to distribute eight or 16 lines of audio. Really we're using it in quite a basic format but it is very reliable. For many years, KBS have been the enthusiastic owners of three Midas XL4 consoles, two of which are in the TV studios and one for sound reinforcement in the concert hall, where live music programmes are recorded.
