A key contributor to the realism of the post-show video, as well as the engaging look of Roland’s sprawling, multi-faceted NAMM exhibit, has been the thoughtful, well-balanced lighting design created by Justin Preston of Three-Phase Productions, using a collection of Rogue, STRIKE and COLORado fixtures from Chauvet Professional.

USA - The 59th Annual Grammy Awards are rapidly approaching, and the Nashville chapter of the Recording Academy gathered 26 January to celebrate the successes and toast nominees including Maren Morris, For King & Country, Cassadee Pope, Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini.
Bandit Lites provided the lighting package for the event with Chris Lisle lighting design and Erik Parker as programmer, creating a relaxed, cocktail party vibe.
“The last thing we wanted was to turn houselights on and have a bright space with no ‘mood’, so our main considerations were to give enough light to avoid the houselights, but not too much that the party felt more like an office luncheon,” Parker said. “There was a lot of thought from the producers in how the layout of the room would be and the scenic elements and we wanted to accent them all without being distracting.”

Germany - For the long-awaited inauguration of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall located on the harbour-side in Hamburg, a massive light and video setup was installed. It all culminated with a spectacular show in the evening of 11 January. As a crucial part of this show, no less than 500 P-5 and P-2 wash lights from SGM were applied.
Hamburg’s new concert hall is one of the largest and most acoustically advanced in the world. It is popularly nicknamed Elphi. The 108m tall building consists of two sections. The new glassy construction resembles a hoisted sail, water wave or quartz crystal, which is constructed on top of an old warehouse building. A terrace placed in middle, ties the new and the old sections together. This is where most of the P-5s were installed. Additionally, all balconies on the upper part were also equipped with P-5s.

Hubbard and his team used the LED video panels to build walls across the ballroom's Broadway-sized stage. The centre wall measured nine panels wide by five panels high.
