USA - High End Systems has announced the introduction of the Studio Command H, the Halogen version of the well-known luminaire. Debuting and shipping now, Studio Command H has a Tungsten source for those applications requiring a warm 3200°K colour temperature option, and works with standard theatre dimming racks, say HES. A 1000W halogen lamp is offered in four different lamp voltages.

The new luminaire is aimed at a wide variety of applications including theatrical, corporate, concert touring, house of worship markets or any other show or installation requiring a powerful wash fixture.

UK - As a recent addition to the new Martin lighting range, the Mac 700's made an impact at the recent Lord's Taverners Charity Concert held at the Royal Albert Hall this April.

With the likes of Rhythm and Blues greats including Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, Paul Young, Geno Washington and Eddie Floyd performing, and the nature and venue of the show, the brief given to Lighting Designer, Baz Halpin was to create an intimate atmosphere.

The lighting rig comprised eight of the new Mac 700's, alongside Mac 500's, parcans, ACL's and Molefays, set up by specialist lighting company LXCO, Baz incorporated the architecture of the venue into his lighting specifications. UK - RIA's new AST125 and AST188 are the latest additions to the SpringCon family of terminal blocks. Fulfilling the three essentials of today's field wiring applications; fast installation, reliable connection and compact design, these new terminal blocks feature high density dual in-line terminations with 2 vertical wire connections for each pole.

Quick installation is achieved by wire ready contacts allowing solid wires, as well as stranded wires with ferrules, to be inserted directly without any lever actuation.

Having two independent connections per pole allows one wire to be relocated while the second is kept under constant pressure in a gas-tight and vibration-resistant connection. A test port for each pole permits easy verification of the circuit.

Available with two to 24 poles, the design of double solder pins for each pole provides a stable mounting on the PCB and

USA - Wybron has been manufacturing some of the world's most popular colour changers since inventing them over 25 years ago, and for over 15 years, the high-quality gelstrings that go into them. Wybron's ColorExpress department has been making strings for every make, model and size of scrolling colour changer manufactured. To date, over 500,000 gelstrings have been made, with the last few months seeing an especially high turnout.

ColorExpress assembles an average of 4,000 gelstrings per month, but that average is growing: the team produced a record 4,600 gelstrings in January alone - and broke that record again in March with 4,800 gelstrings, including a large order of 442 custom-made large format CXIs for The Villagio mall in Doha, Qatar. Because the CXI allows colour mixing via dual scrolling gelstrings, the order required 884 gelstrings in a 36" width. Denise Clark, Colo

India - Bangalore may rank as one of the fastest growing cities in Asia but it still suffers from erratic power conditions and high temperatures - important considerations when planning any major installation of lighting and sound into a venue. When Bangalore-based Acoustic Control was contracted to both design and install a high end sound and lighting system for Christ College's new auditorium, they chose LSC Lighting products.

"The LSC dimmers and consoles are suited to India's unpredictable power conditions and extreme temperatures," said Sanjay Mudartha, director of Acoustic Control. "The dimmers have saved our lamps on many occasions when voltages exceeded safe limits, by shutting down. And despite very hot and humid conditions have never shut down due to thermal issues."

Situated on the third floor of the new block at Christ College, the auditorium se

The dmXact software has just finished beta testing at Element Labs following their request for this new capability for use on their video servers. Element has ordered six units for their use in sales and support.

Prior to this time, DMX users wishing to see real DMX output values were generally challenged by the use of a cursor based DMX test device or a full-featured console. With the advent of the dmXact chip, this powerful tool is now placed in the palm of any Pocket Console user.

dmXact allows the user to choose, from one of four methods, how they wish to see the output of the Pocket Console: DMX real values from 0-255; DMX % values from 0-100%; binHex values from 0-FF; No output readout. These choices are easily selected by depressing the last or next buttons while in
