UK - Martin Audio has announced a significant upgrade to Display, the software brain of the MLA Series. This represents what R&D director, Jason Baird, now describes as "the world's most accurate prediction and optimisation array software, bar none".

Display is the numerical optimisation process that eliminates lengthy trial-and-error tuning sessions, so that an MLA Series system achieves the required audience coverage straight out of the box.

Based on a highly accurate acoustic model of array behaviour, it gives a very precise prediction of the direct sound produced over the audience as well as areas where sound is to be minimised. It takes the guesswork out of array design, deployment and control - generating ready-to-use DSP filter configurations and comprehensive rigging information, including mechanical load safety analysis.

Europe - ALC NetworX, developers of the high performance RAVENNA audio networking technology, has announced the release of RAV2SAP, a useful RAVENNA-to-SAP freeware conversion tool designed to help connect RAVENNA devices to other AES67 devices.

ALC NetworX's Andreas Hildebrand explains why RAV2SAP is important. "Most people would agree that, in an ideal world, when setting up a network, it would be wonderful not to be limited in one's choice of devices on the network, or indeed one's choice of network protocol because of incompatibility issues.

"The AES67 standard for high performance AoIP interoperability was published in 2013 in order to provide some common ground and basic guidelines for manufacturers wishing to incorporate interoperability capabilities into their products."

Crucial to the success of any network is connection management between devices and the exch

With a CRI of more than 90 (typically 93), the G-4 Wash delivers "the most amazing colour rendering of any wash light on the market today...It is not only powerful in colors but also impressive in white".

The durable, IP65-rated exterior of G-4 Wash and the built-in dehumidifier ensure that the fixture is kept free of externally induced impact on internal optics and light source unit, such as smoke fluid, dust and

UK - Symphotech combined their expertise and experience from many events to manage health and safety for the inaugural Lockdown Festival, as it headed to Powderham Castle in September.

USA - Images of the Ryman Auditorium stage in Nashville, with its 18" blonde oak lip, distinctive frame and teak deck, are burnished into the minds and hearts of country music bands and fans. The giants of country have worked their magic on this sacred 60.5' x 36.5'space, as have artists from other genres like Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.

It was fitting that this stage served as the site for the Americana Honours and Awards Show at the 17th annual Americana Music Festival & Conference. Lighting designer Robert Peterson of Real World Lighting and his associate designer Monica Rose highlighted the architectural features of the famous stage during the televised event by drawing on the colour rendering capabilities of Chauvet Professional COLORado fixtures.

USA - Some things were just made to go together in life such as the beach, cocktails and great music. Bernie's Beach Bar encompasses the first two aspects perfectly by being located on a city block's worth of boardwalk space on Hampton Beach and serving patrons its famous Bernie's Rum Runner.

When Bernie's Beach Bar tasked RPM Dynamics with the mission of permanently installing a touring system that would give the patrons a superb sonic experience, they chose VUE's al-8 Line Array System.

As a Northeast outdoor venue, Bernie's Beach Bar needed a system that not only could cover the multiple listening areas, but also be taken in and out due to the unpredictable weather. Featuring a large rooftop performance space at its heart, the area is flanked by a horseshoe-shaped semi-covered lounge, outdoor bar and eating areas.

Sweden - After an extensive six-month renovation process, Rico opened its doors earlier this year to an overwhelmingly positive reception. Diners have relished the Linköping restaurant's attractive décor, relaxed ambience and fresh produce, with a keen focus on locally sourced meats.

A host of Genelec 4020s, 4030s and 4040s have been installed across the premises, which deliver audio clarity to accompany the restaurant's delicious food and stylish surroundings.

With sound playing a key role in creating an inviting restaurant atmosphere, it was important to establish an environment at just the right audio levels; low enough so that it did not disturb conversations, while still keeping the environment lively and energised.

Stockholm-based system integrator Watt & Volt took care of the audio installation and sales. Opting for Genelec loudspeakers, Carl Ingler of W

UK - Colour Sound Experiment worked closely with innovative lighting designer Francis Clegg of MIRRAD to supply a full production lighting rig for rapper Kano's recent show-stopping gig at London's Brixton Academy.

This high profile show came amidst a run of other gigs around the country playing a mix of venues on this latest leg of the artist's Made in the Manor album campaign, for which they were using a trailer-sized specials lighting package. Says Colour Sound's H (Haydn Cruickshank), "Francis has the ability to make everything look great, even if he's only using six lights! He's definitely 'one-to-watch' and we are very happy to be working with him".
