USA - Raleigh, North Carolina-based Alpha Production Group has taken delivery of six Clay Paky Scenius moving head spotlights, which were quickly dispatched on the northeastern and southeastern legs of Lauryn Hill's current tour.

"The day the Scenius fixtures came in were the day they went out for four weeks with Lauryn Hill," says Hayes Twisdale, Alpha Production Group's owner and production manager. "Scenius replaced Viper profile fixtures on the tour. Scenius is an incredible, cutting-edge fixture and we believe having it will set us apart from the competition, which has a lot of older technology in their inventories."

Alpha Production Group provides audio, video, lighting and staging services for entertainment and corporate events. It purchased 16 Clay Paky Sharpys from A.C.T Lighting about 18 months ago and has a pair of grandMA2 Light consoles, which A.C.T Lighting a

Australia - The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is based in the Sydney suburb of Kensington adjacent to the University of South Wales (Australia) and is a high profile self-accrediting training institute for students of the performing arts. It has a great reputation and an interesting alumnae of talent who have made their names in the worlds of theatre, stage, film and TV.

Five years ago, the foyer - a large, airy glass-fronted space that's also used for art and other exhibitions, public displays and meetings - was architecturally lit with an Anolis ArcSource 48 MC LED installation, supplied via the ULA Group, Robe and Anolis distributor for Australia. This transformed the atmosphere and increased the flexibility of the space.

It was followed by an investment in 16 x Robe DLX Spots, a bright LED spot luminaire that outputs similar to a 1200W discharge light-sourc

USA - The electronica artist Brillz (aka Sami Diament) is bent on adding the term Twonk to the lexicon of musical genres.

This aggressive music calls for a hard-hitting lightshow, which is precisely what designers Ethan Kairer, Jim Feeney and Corey Mattonen delivered on the artist's recent tour with help from a collection of Nexus 4x4 LED panels and MVP Ta8 Curve video panels from Chauvet Professional.

The designers used 10 of the Nexus panels and a 12' x 12' wall of MVP Ta 8 panels, all supplied by Zeo Brothers, on the sold-out Brillz Twonk Di Nation Tour to create a visual impression that was as punchy as the artist's 808 kick drums and sub base lines.

"Intensity, brightness and colour were all out in front on this tour," said Mattonen. "We wanted a rig that matched the energy level of the music, so the Chauvet Nexus and video panels fit right our plans. Ethan Kairer

USA - Robe once again had a big presence at Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Las Vegas, another high profile event on the US EDM calendar - following spectacular performances for the brand at ULTRA Miami and Coachella.

Staged at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was EDC Las Vegas' 20th anniversary, and nearly 350 Robe fixtures - 212 Pointes, 83 x BMFL Spots and 38 x BMFL WashBeams - graced Steve Lieberman's epic design for the circuitGROUNDS stage.

As the main production stage of the event, the star-studded line up included Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Eric Prydz, Kaskade and numerous others.

Steve and the team from SJ Lighting presented a completely new visual concept that incorporated lighting, video and set / structural design. The architecture was based on an enigmatic 360 degree coliseum look - classical lines with industrial attitude - a provocative,

South Africa - Thankfully no one was injured in a massive fire, which burnt down Durban Christian Centre in Mayville, KwaZulu Natal on the evening of 8 June. Three days later, the sky was lit up by 12 Clay Paky Mythos, all pointed towards a star, as the congregation met together for a service held in their parking lot.

One of the largest churches in Durban, the 5,500 seat auditorium known as the Jesus Dome, was a house of prayer for all nations and a place where miracles happened.

Having regularly lit events in this venue, lighting designer Michael Broderick along with his friend in the industry, Brandon Bunyan of Black Coffee, came up with an idea to use the Mythos fixtures in an act of compassion for the church's loss.

"When we told DWR's Duncan Riley about our idea, he insisted that the globes in the Mythos be 100% new and that the lights be freshly serviced," said

USA - Journalists from far beyond New England are used to coming to Westin Copley Place, Boston, to cover news. US presidents and Supreme Court justices have frequently given speeches here, and one would-be Commander and Chief, Mitt Romney, used it as his primary election night headquarters.

Recently, though, members of the fourth estate visited the elegant hotel on the banks of the Charles River to make news, rather than cover it, by participating in the 39th annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards. The high-profile event, which has helped propel many careers to national stardom stature, draws journalists from six states. Setting an appropriately elegant tone for the evening ceremonies was a glitzy video wall and lighting display created by Darren Lussier of Image Production Services, using an array of Chauvet Professional fixtures and video panels.

"It's a striking new set from designer Alex Craig, the original idea was for it to be against a white cyc," says Roger. "After discussions it was decided to set it against blacks and, as I'm desperately trying to avoid using smoke and beams where I can, Auras were the perfect choice to fill in l

Europe - Yvan Pe?ard, Ayrton's chief design and technology officer, has continued to work his magic on array of innovations which have enlarged the scope of several of the Ayrton ranges, the latest of which is MagicPanel-FX, a new fixture with visually stunning square optics. MagicPanel-FX is an exciting new multi-function, multi-use luminaire which marks another step in the evolution of the MagicPanel family, says the company.

Soundtrack for a Generation - After a gap of 27 years, Carole King returned to the UK stage to play her classic album Tapestry in full as part of the BST festival in London's Hyde Park. The crowd, who had paid up to £249 for the show, seemed to know every word. And the critics were impressed. "King was in London to perform her 1971 classic Tapestry, in full, for the first time, making history with an album that made history," wrote The Telegraph's Neil McCormick. "Tapestry was the first mega selling album ever, a record that every household with a hi-fi had to own. Comparison might be made with the way another female singer songwriter, Adele, rules the contemporary music world but it would be inadequate. For her moment in the early 70s, Carole King was like Adele, The Beatles and Elvis rolled into one gentle, intimate, heartfelt, feminine package." The Evening S

The DX4 has been scientifically calibrated and provides true warm whites as well as cool whites. A total of 64 custom colours can also be created and save via the versatile preset menu. The DX4 comes with 25 colour defaults, including several whites, RGB Yellow, RGB Purple, RGB Cyan plus popular
