USA - Robe lighting embraced the 2022 LDI expo in Las Vegas with a new booth design, invigorating live show, and a line up of new and innovative products.

Australia - TDC (Technical Direction Company) took home the Best Technical Achievement Award for their work on Vivid Sydney 2022 at the Australian Event Awards 2022 held in-person aboard The Jackson luxury superyacht in Darling Harbour, Sydney on 23 November 2022.
The Australian Event Awards recognise the entire events industry, fostering continued excellence and innovation. France - With great sadness, the Showlight Committee has announced the postponement of Showlight 2023. The popular quadrennial networking event was due to take place in Fontainebleau, France from 20th – 23rd May 2023.
In a statement from Showlight, chairman John Allen explains the reasons behind this decision: “It is after lengthy consideration and with much deliberation that we have decided to postpone Showlight 2023. The plans and preparations for Showlight in Fontainebleau have been underway since 2018 and although the Covid lockdown took two years out of our work, it was always our intention to hold Showlight in 2023 following the lifting of Covid restrictions.

Il Divo, the multi-national vocal quartet, had the same line up for the past 18 years until, sadly, founder member, Carlos Marín, passed away from COVID-19 last December. The group had been part-way through their Motown-themed tour, For Once in My Life, and, after much heart-searching and encouragement from their fans, decided to continue the tour and rearrange it to honour their long-term friend.
The reconfigured tour, renamed Greatest Hits Tour, began in February and will continue until December – a total of 105 international dates in 2022 - with more to come in 2023.

South Africa - Stage Audio Works reports that the live workshops run by MxU on 12-13 October were a resounding success. Over 200 attendees from various ministries congregated at 3Ci Church in Pretoria for a masterclass in live production for worship. The event was led by MxU co-founders Jeff Sandstrom and Lee Fields, who travelled from the USA. Stage Audio Works and co-hosts d&b audiotechnik were on hand to provide technical assistance and any additional support required.

Spain - Registration is now open for Integrated Systems Europe (ISE 2023). With just under four months until opening day, ISE 2023 already has over 52,000 sqm of space booked, over 30% more than the exhibitor space in 2022.

South Africa - It was with slight trepidation that the organisers of the Hilton Arts Festival opened the event on Friday, 23 September in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. After a two-year COVID-19 gap, the depressed economy, the hazardous N3 highway between Durban and Hilton and severely reduced sponsorship, it was a risky decision to take. However, driven by the sure knowledge that the arts are one of the most vital parts of a balanced society and a happy people, they forged ahead.
