Germany - One of Germany's most accomplished lighting designers, JoJo Tillman, has turned to GLP's new X4 Bar 20s for the first time as a vital part of his stage concept for the annual Stunksitzung alternative cabaret at the Cologne E-Werk. This has formed part of the Cologne Festival for more than 30 years, and comprises around 50 shows which run up to the day before Lent begins.

The designer requisitioned 16 of the battens, which have brought about a paradigm shift since their launch last year. This is largely due to the density with which the 20 LEDs are packed into the 40-inch long bar, generating a broad pallet of pastel and saturated colours which allow for subtle graduated fades, and a 7:1 zoom range which enables it to be deployed equally as a narrow angle light curtain or a wide angle back- or wash-light.

Such versatility has allowed JoJo not only to animate the s

Europe - Genelec has announced that its popular 4000 Series loudspeakers are now available as part of the BIMobject library. This move allows AV designers and architects to include the Genelec loudspeakers in any building information model to help in the design and planning stages of a project. Users will now be able to add the loudspeakers into digitally built models in building design software such as Autodesk Revit, ArchiCAD and Google Sketchup.

USA - Stoopid Buddy Stoodios in Burbank, is the largest studio specialising in stop-motion animation in California. Best known for the adult animated character Robot Chicken, the stages also produce Super Mansion, LEGO Scooby-Doo, Bratz and MAD Spy vs. Spy

While stop-motion animation has been around since the silent film era, Stoopid Buddy gives it an irreverent and often R-rated twist. While mainstream Hollywood looks for sources offshore, Stoopid Buddy prides itself on creating everything in house. With its own model making, wardrobe, set construction, lighting, grip and camera departments, the studio operates like a traditional, self-contained studio, but the comparison ends there. The mostly millennial team of directors, camera operators, editors and writers collaborate in ways that blur the historic divisions of labour. With log cabin offices and a Winnebago executive sui

Germany - Every year, during Marburg b(u)y Night, Marburg city centre lights up: more than sixty public and private buildings become the stars of the show, and the shops stay open until midnight. Although the tour originally kicked off early in 2015 using largely local PA, the production values were ramped up towards the end of the year when Fettes Brot played venues ranging from around 3,500 to 15,000.

The Berlin-based production company based its rig design around a core of between 7 and 10 MLA cells per side, plus MLD Downfill - and depending on venue size, they also carried 12 x MLA Compacts for out-fills in the larger venues. Along the front of the stage, 14 MLX were set up as a broadside cardioid array.
