Launched at the PLASA Show, the Si Performer is a full-featured compact audio console featuring up to 80 inputs to mix and are the first audio consoles to incorporate DMX lighting control - designed for single-operator applications.

UK - IT and AV rental company, DB Systems, has spent just over £100,000 on 170 LED LCD screens, following increased demand from customers. All the new screens, which are a mix of 55", 47", 42" and 32" in size, are Full HD, while 80 are 3D Smart TVs. The investment takes DB's LED inventory (32" and bigger) to just over 400 units and is part of an ongoing programme to tailor its stock to cater for the waning event industry demand for standard LCD screens.

Early this year, DB purchased top-of-the-range 80-inch LED screens, including touchscreens.

Oliver Richardson, DB's sales and marketing director, said: "The huge advantage of LED technology is how they look on exhibition stands or as digital signage around shows. They're almost like wall paper, which makes them so aesthetically pleasing. Our design agency customers love it when we supply LED

UK - The closing day of yet another successful PLASA show is never a quiet one for Midas. Following a frenetic four days that saw the company host demos and on-stand training alongside European and worldwide product launches, Midas gifted a newly launched VeniceU to Will Jameson, director of Malawi's Lake of Stars arts festival.

The gift is a symbol of the ongoing relationship between Midas and the Lake of Stars festival. It follows Will's use of one of the first ever Midas PRO2C to be shipped, directly after its 2011 PLASA launch.

"The Lake of Stars project gave the PRO2C its first real world challenge," explains Midas brand manager Richard Ferriday. "It had to handle FOH sound in extreme conditions including hot air-born sand, high temperatures - up to 42°C - and high humidity. We hope the VeniceU will be equally useful to the Lake of Stars team."

UK - First the champagne flowed at the Martin Professional stand at Earl's Court in London in celebration of the company's 25th Anniversary, then it flowed again a short time later when the MAC Viper Profile won a PLASA Award for Innovation, in which it was pronounced "a new benchmark for automated lighting spots." And all that before the real party got started at a special VIP event held at live music venue Under the Bridge.

PLASA 2012 proved a resounding success on all levels for Martin, not only for the MAC Viper Profile accolade but also due to a crowded stand and high level of interest in Martin's other featured products like the MAC III AirFX, MAC III Wash and VC series of creative LED video.

"We reached all of our goals at PLASA and then some, and managed to have a lot of fun in the process," stated Martin UK sales director Mike Walker. "The res

The Netherlands - Hoevenaars LGV recently provided the sound system for Maximaal Hollands in Beursgebouw Eindhoven, a large arena musical event that saw leading singers and bands take to the stage, all with an array of instruments and requirements.

"We have about 60 Lab.gruppen amplifiers," said Pieter Verkooijen of Hoevenaars LGV. "Fifteen of those are PLM Series units, so we have that added flexibility.

Using the PLM you can feel - and hear - that the unit was designed as an integrated processing and amplification
