UK - More than one million people lined the River Thames in London on Sunday, 3 June to catch a glimpse of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as she celebrated her Diamond Jubilee with a River Pageant involving 1000 boats. And in typical British style the weather was dreadful, with heavy rain doing its best to spoil what was supposed to be the highlight of the UK's Diamond Jubilee weekend.

But the cold, the wind and the rain proved no match for the DPA microphones that were the unsung heroes of the event. Even in atrocious conditions they worked perfectly and all of the microphones used to record the orchestras and choirs delivered a seamless performance.

DPA 4088 directional headset microphones were used to mike the Royal College of Music Chamber Choir who performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra on Symphony, the last of 10 Herald music barges taking part in the pageant.

Norway - Clay Paky Sharpys have dazzled up-for-it crowds across Norway during a series of mammoth We Love the 90s concerts. This year, German group Scooter headlined, alongside 90s stalwarts Haddaway, E-Type, and the Vengaboys.

LD Philip Lindhfelt racked the Sharpys up at the rear of the stage and used them to beam directly onto the audience, which provided some spectacular, 1990s scanner-style, mid-air displays.

Playing to packed houses in arenas in the Norwegian cities of Stavanger, Bergen, Ålesund and the capital Oslo, We Love the 90s was a sell out event. Lindhfelt used the Sharpy before but never quite like this, as he explains: "I used them primarily as an effects fixture. Bands such as Scooter are quite progressive in terms of their music. I needed a fixture that was fast to respond. While the speed and the brightness of the Sharpy make it an ideal

UK - 49 theatre buildings across the UK are at real risk of being lost unless owners recognise they are responsible for community assets and work with trusts and local communities to secure their future, says The Theatres Trust.

Publishing its 2012 Theatre Buildings At Risk Register (TBAR) today, changes since 2011 highlight how a lack of care and investment leaves theatres particularly vulnerable to neglect whilst opportunities to harness the social and cultural value of theatres are being lost. It also shows how local champions, with the support of councils, grant making trusts and Lottery distributors are providing a new lease of life for theatres at risk.

The passing of the Localism Act in November 2011 and its emphasis on social well-being means local authorities now have to prepare lists of assets of community value, which include cultural interests such as theatres. The
