UK - The launch of Automation in the Entertainment Industry - A User's Guide, the newest title from ET Press, which took place after the ABTT Theatre Show awards on 10th June, was a casual gathering in a private room of a pub near the Apollo theatre, and around 60 industry personalities made an extra effort to attend even though the tube strikes were affecting transport in central London.

Argentina - Earlier this year, as part of the Rocket Man tour which began in 2007 Elton John returned to Argentina for a concert at the Boca Juniors Club Stadium, 16 years after his last show in the country. The show also featured James Blunt.

The sound reinforcement for the show was provided by Buenos Aires Live Show (BALS), who chose to use the Proel EDGE system, for the stage monitors.

The two artists - backed by a group of international musicians - performed various styles from pop, to folk, to acoustic rock to a crowd of over 25,000 spectators.

In total, the stage monitor system used by BALS for the event featured 16 x Proel EDGE15CXPB bi-amplifiable coaxial floor monitors powered by six Powersoft Q4002 amplifiers.

UK - The Rigging Partnership has introduced the Rig Beam system, designed to dramatically improve the flexibility and rig point safety of any venue. "The system has already proven that after its quick and easy installation the rig beam system will save on design and production costs and allow the venue to facilitate larger productions," the company says.

The suspension beam system, which can travel along the inside flanges of two I-beams, or mounted to bespoke brackets which interface with an existing house system, allows two or more adjacent systems to pass by each other without obstruction. Denmark - DNP Denmark reports an overwhelming reaction to the worldwide launch of its new Supernova Panorama at InfoComm 2009 in Orlando. The new Panorama offers a seamless display measuring 10m (33ft) wide by 1.5m (5ft) tall.

The Netherlands - Visual Productions' VisualDMX software lighting controller was selected by Dutch LED manufacturer TDE, when they were asked to supply and install the lighting and control system for a new large sauna complex. The Devarana in Den Bosch compromises of an approximate 50 room network of saunas, swimming pools, restrooms and treatment rooms, with Asian inspired, East meets West themes running throughout.

TDE selected VisualDMX software lighting control from Visual Productions to control the sauna's lighting as they required a system that could be programmed with numerous lighting effects yet provide a simple and safe means of customer control. They installed LED lighting within the venue including 2500 pieces of their LED strips from about 33cm each.
