Tom Petty's production/lighting designer, Jim Lenehan has created a design that incorporates threedifferent resolutions of LED along with projection. To achieve the design, XLTV supplied 2200 XL LED Spheres and five Mitirx cubes with 72 Mitrix LED panels in a each cube. The cubes are 4ft in diameter and hung above the stage at different levels and move throughout the show. In addition to XLTV, CW Productions and Ed & Ted are also supplying tour support.
XLTV's project manager, Dave Hyslop says: "The result of Lenehan's vision was a three dimensional wild ride of a visual display. It was gratify

Fabrice Quirin has been his monitor engineer since last summer and it was his persuading that led to Kano picking up the Sennheiser mic. "I'd used the SKM 935 on a few occasions when I was working for Britannia Row Productions," explains Quirin. "I always had great results with them, especially in monitors.
"I think the 935 works a treat on Kano's vocal," he continues. "He is a bright, loud MC and the high end of the 935 is very soft giving him a smoother sound from the start. The low end is fantastic on these mics. I find it very flattering. Also they can take the volume when set to -30 sensitivity, even though the meter is showing clipping all the way through.&q
The monitoring system has been a part of the setup since 2005. According to Dustin Ragland, drummer for Charlie Hall, the system's efficient and portable design has made traveling and having to deal with the PA gear less challenging. "Its compactness has been a major plus," he says. "We previously traveled with a digital mixer and a large splitter, and I was in charge of each mix. This burdened us with having to fly with extra equipment and risking it breaking in transit. The AN-16/i-M r
Choosing Lollapalooza 2008 to play its first North American gig on the second leg of its summer tour, Radiohead played to a sell-out crowd of 75,000 to close out the first night. Thom Yorke's vocals and guitar helped guide the two-hour set, with the frontman singing into a Beta 87C from Shure.

It's the fourth consecutive year that the company has been involved in this high profile event, and the first year that the projection canvas has been increased from 60m to 90m wide. This extended area stretches the full width of Edinburgh Castle's walls at the far end of the Esplanade/arena where the performance takes place.
Four of E/T/C's PIGI 6K projectors fitted with double rotating scrollers are being used for the task. Three are covering the width of the Castle wall area, with the fourth focussed on providing 'drop-ins' in the area around the Castle gates, through which all the performers make their entrances.
E/T/C's Ross Ashton designed and produced the artwork for all the key strategic points in the show, which are being punctuated with the high impact pro
For the Olympic Games, Chinese broadcasting giant CCTV was opted for communications systems from RTS to ensure that sound and images from the Games reach the waiting millions. RTS components - including ADAM and Cronus matrices linked to over sixty KP32 and KP12LK keypanels - form the nerve centre of several of the company's outside broadcast vehicles. In the area of wireless communication, too, Telex BTR700 and TR700 systems will be in action throughout the event.
Systems from EVI Audio are in use in the competition
Vieta-Net Control (VNC) Software Version 2, which includes new features, a better user interface and an easier automatic set-up, allows a remarkable 2-way communication between a variety of local control options and a PC-based master control of the media player and amplifiers, which can be connected directly, connected via a wireless network or connected remotely using the internet.
Local changes to settings on the Ti Line system can be made by any combination of IR remotes, wall switches and unit front panels. These changes will register on the remote PC which provides master control of the system, and can be
