USA - The Warren Haynes Presents Christmas Jam returned for its 32nd year, partnering with the Asheville area Habitat for Humanity and BeLoved Asheville. Bandit Lites provided the lighting system for the 9 December showcase which featured a line-up including Slash and Myles Kennedy, Billy F Gibbons, Gov’t Mule, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, Clutch and Karina Rykman.
The winter spectacular began in 1988 and has raised more than $2.8m over the years, helping those in the area who have been unable to be homeowners due to financial setbacks.
"To take something as simple as playing music, which we all love to do, and turn it into building houses, it's an opportunity that I can't be more thankful for," Haynes told area news.

Brought onboard as programmer by Mumbai based show producers BToS Productions, he worked closely with the lighting design team from LAGFL Designs on ensuring that the show they had crafted was programmed in the most efficient, logical, and flexible way, enabling the showfile to be swiftly updated to deal with different sized venues.

USA - AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, has significantly upgraded the capabilities of its main audio control room with the installation of a Solid State Logic System T S500m console. The new system, which was supplied and integrated by Clair Global Integration’s Pro Media Audio Video division, is primarily used to mix and route audio throughout the 80,000-seat stadium during the venue’s very busy calendar of sports, entertainment and corporate events.

The Netherlands - De Tocht is a new ice-based musical production staged in the purpose-built 1475-capacity Friso Theatrein Leeuwarden. Directed by Eddy Habbema and choreographed by Marc Forno, the production design was created by Luc Peumans, artistic director of Painting with Light (PWL), whose brief encompassed lighting, video and scenography, an ambitious collage of visual disciplines to capture all the skating action presented in “spectacular” style.
Luc utilised over 200 Robe moving lights for the show including 120 Esprites, 83 LEDBeam 350s, 16 T2 Profiles and 13 iFortes running on a remote follow spot system, supplied to the production by RentAll.

The set contains all the necessary items to realise countless installation variants: the universal carrier enables lighting or small loudspeakers to be mounted. There is also a universal plate to mount moving lights, projectors etc. and a TV mounting plate. Speakers can be mounted centrally using a spigot.
The set is rounded off by a display mount to hold two displays with a maximum surface area of up to 1.5 m² per display (back to back) and a display holder that can be adjusted in four angles (e.g. for previewers or touchscreens).

This new link goes to an online form which prompts for a general outline of the event such as the general type of equipment they require, the event name and date, room size and other details plus the contact details of the person enquiring.

South Africa - Johannesburg-based MJ Event Gear, the technical supply company founded by Mike Jones in the early 90s, recently invested in lighting and audio equipment from DWR Distribution.
Mike Jones asked his team to come up with a wish list, with a focus on adding essential gear to their inventory. They decided on a grandMA3 compact XT, eight Robe LEDBeam 350s, six Longman F6s, two Le Maitre MVS Hazers, and two Antari M5 foggers. Additionally, they acquired a DiGiCo S21 console with a D2 rack and an Audix DP 5A Drum Kit, catering to their audio needs.
"The Robe LEDBeam 350s immediately impressed us during their first gig,” says Mike. “The fixtures were used outdoors and being positioned on the lawn, the programmer selected a narrow beam with the audience in mind. Then he gave a demonstration of the units being used wide open and it truly blew me away.”

USA - Martin Audio partner, Audio Video Electronics (AVE) has successfully upgraded the technical infrastructure at the Word of Faith Dominion Church (WOFD) in Lake Mills, Iowa.
Based in Brooklyn Park, MN the integrators opted for a Torus constant curvature array solution after their engineering team had reviewed a number of possibilities.
According to AVE sales consultant, Kerry Graffunder, the church’s existing PA had reached end of life and was no longer delivering the coverage or clarity required from a worship establishment that is just 25 years old. “The pastor merely requested some ‘thump in the trunk’ … and the intelligibility has greatly increased also,” he said.
