UK - Star Events beat the clock to install a VerTech stage, an array of its new delay towers and other support structures as nearly quarter of million people celebrated Leicester City becoming the most unexpected champions in Premier League history.

"It's unbelievable. All the city is here," Manager Claudio Ranieri said from the stage in Victoria Park, where he was joined by the full Leicester squad ahead of a surprise set from hometown rockers Kasabian.

The spontaneous nature of the event meant Star had just five days from order to plan, prep, load, transport and build the stage and the infrastructure for the band's production and Britannia Row's audio reinforcement.

Pete Holdich, head of structures at Star Events, says, "The project quickly scaled up from a mobile stage to a VerTech and, in the spirit of the occasion, getting it across the line was a great team effor

Italy - Three days in early May saw Rimini's Fiera exhibition venue play host to Music Inside Rimini (MIR), a new trade show for innovation in sound, lighting and video technology. Four of the venue's halls hosted hands-on audio mixing sessions, where a pair of Yamaha RIVAGE PM10 mixing systems were the stars of the show.

Taking place from 7-9 May, MIR featured themed areas including audio, AV equipment, lighting, lasers, staging and nightclub décor. Four halls were hosted by Live You Play, an innovative showcase where manufacturers could demonstrate their products by inviting visitors to try them out with artists performing live on real stages.

Yamaha Music Europe and Nexo worked together to supply a comprehensive audio system for one of the halls, inviting front of house and monitor engineers to mix a nine-piece band of professional musicians.

UK - Since 2001, Siyan has been servicing the live music industry with quality lighting fixtures. That means a regular reviewing of stock and updating of the rental inventory. MD Nick Valdez was looking to fill a gap in the 'big spot' category.

"These days there are so many options on the market that we look very carefully at what is on offer before making a final choice. There are many factors to consider but I think that quality of the optics is one of the primary reason we opted to invest in the Clay Paky Scenius. It has a very even flat field and the lamp characteristics enable it to produce strong colours right across the palette."

Siyan's customers are predominantly from the touring, festival and one off concert sectors; part of the decision to purchase the Scenius was driven by client request as Valdez explains, "Designers that work in the live music market tend to

It was acquired last year by 24/7 Productions, which provides services to the music touring, event production and TV production industries on a global basis.

Canada - The JUNO Awards, Canada's most prestigious music awards show, recently aired live on CTV from Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome and featured performances by many of the country's leading music artists, including Alessia Cara, Bryan Adams, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Dean Brody, Jann Arden, Shawn Mendes, The Tenors and The Weeknd.

But it was the performance by an L-Acoustics K1/K2 sound system - provided by another Canadian original, Solotech - that seamlessly kept the music sonically clear all night long.

Solotech's L-Acoustics system proved to be a particularly ideal solution for Scotiabank Saddledome, which is a beautiful sounding hall with a hyperbolic paraboloid-shaped roof (the world's longest) offering fantastic interior sightlines. However, that same design poses a number of challenges in terms of weight limitations. Thankfully, the superior weight-to-power ratio of

Front-of-House engineer for the tour is Dave Bracey and he was delighted with Digital 9000 from the moment he heard it.

The show has opened to rave reviews, with The Stage calling it "the best and most original British musical score since Bend It Like Beckham". Neil Marcus, one of the show's producers, comments, "We are delighted with the response so far. We've been workin
