USA - Dynaudio PRO has announced its latest addition to the LYD studio monitor range. The new LYD 48 features a three-way speaker design, coupling an 8" and a 4" woofer with a 1" tweeter, making them well suited for nearfield as well as midfield monitor applications. It will be available as white and black, as the original LYD range, but also in a classic all-black version.

USA - In conjunction with the release of the new 3124V, API has announced its new 3124MV Microphone Preamp. The 3124MV is essentially the same unit as the 3124mb+, but it provides two important additional features. First, the 3124MV offers front panel Variable Output Level Control, an extremely valuable addition given today's professional workflow. "This is a feature long requested by the pro audio community, and we're happy to provide it in the 3124MV," says API's president Larry Droppa.

Second, the 3124MV adds a switchable 3:1 output transformer selection, also on the front panel. USA - Mutemath's 2016 North American tour featured Solaris SoLED strobes, adding visual depth and intensity to the New Orleans alternative rock band's stage. Reflecting on a successful 2016, 44 Designs describes how the SoLED performed on the road.

For the better part of a year, SoLEDs worked flawlessly on Mutemath's headline dates, and co-billed gigs with Twenty One Pilots. "We've had zero problems with these strobes," says 44 Designs lead designer and owner Jeff Lava. "For Mutemath we put them at stage level behind the amps, creating a backdrop of stunning effects. Programmed to timecode, we used them in strobe and constant-on mode, as well as short bursts for additional pop."

Jeff adds, "Proving their worth again and again, night after night, SoLED is now our first-call strobe. With the look and 'feel' of xenon, the brightness in such a small footprint is unparalleled.

Italy - Emma Marrone's Adesso Tour 2016 stopped off at all the major sports halls on the Italian peninsula, along with a dynamic stage installation and an interesting lighting rig put together by lighting designer Mamo Pozzoli.

The Claypaky A.leda B Eye K20s were most impressive and stole the show with stunning features. They are top performance wash lights, breathtaking beam lights, and spectacular, original visual effects generators. Slovakia - The annual gala Christmas TV show Hodina Detom (An Hour for Children) is organised by the Children of Slovakia Foundation to help raise funds and awareness for the charity, which works to empower children and young people nationwide who are living in and dealing with difficult circumstances.

Top lighting designer Martin Kubanka again brought his style and expertise to ensure it was a memorable live broadcast, and specified nearly 100 Robe fixtures including Spikies, Pointes, BMFL Spots and BMFL WashBeams, plus LEDWash 600 moving lights, together with the fabulously retro PATT 2013s. All helped bring extra special touches of seasonal magic to the mix.

The show - for which a host of celebrities and VIP devoted their time for free - was staged at the RTVS TV studio in Bratislava from where it was broadcast live and people could make donations online.<

Chile - Forty thousand fans attend a special music event in the National Stadium of Chile, in Santiago. This was the tenth year of La Cumbre del Rock, a festival which celebrates the rock music of Chile, with nearly 40 of its best artists appearing live at the emblematic venue.

Real Audio, the up-and-coming dynamic PA supplier, provided Nexo STM Series modular line array systems to service the 2-stage event. Israel - The Gesher Theatre has recently taking delivery of new Robe BMFL Blades and LEDWash 600s to add to their existing LEDWash 1200s as the Czech moving light manufacturer continues to make an impression in theatres and performance installations.

The theatre, in the southern Tel Aviv suburb of Jaffa, was founded in 1991 by new Russian immigrants including artistic director Yevgeny Arye and is now regarded as a key platform of Israeli culture. It is one of the only bi-lingual theatres in the world performing in both Russian and Hebrew, although most productions today are staged in Hebrew. It has won multiple awards and gained worldwide critical recognition.

Germany - Bon Jovi tribute band Bounce has been on the European circuit for more than 10 years ten years. As 'Bounce & Orchestra II' they recently embarked on their Next Level tour in the beautiful city hall of Wuppertal.

Lighting designer and operator, Christian David, specified several of PR Lighting's patented XR 440 BWS fixtures for this show. "The flexibility of this hybrid moving head is really impressive as is its compact size," he said. "The colour-mixing feature and also the projection of the gobos is tremendous. The Beam range and 'old school wash light will rightly give this general purpose moving head the name of 'all round talent.'"
