USA - Founded in 2017, the Korean-American Joong Ang Church in Las Vegas has seen a steady growth in its congregation over the years, and recently left its existing premises to move to a new larger chapel building on Peace Way, just 10 minutes away from the city’s main strip.

With a substantial stage in place, the venue’s main space seats approximately 600 and hosts a variety of worship including spoken sermons, solo singers, bands and complete musical shows. USA - This past holiday season, lighting design group Lightswitch and production house Upstaging collaborated on a new lighting experience at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Impressed by the magical lighting Lightswitch had created for Illumination: Tree Lights at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois – one of the nation’s most cherished light displays which has featured Elation lighting since 2016 – Meijer Gardens sought the same level of quality and entrusted Lightswitch to design something spectacular for their space.

Switzerland - GIS AG, global manufacturer of electric chain hoists, is expanding its LPL lightweight series.

Building on the success of the LPML250, which was designed for D8 applications, the LPL series is now also suitable for D8+ and C1 installations. The LPML250 is the lightest hoist in its class, says the company, with a weight of just 12kg and a capacity of 500kg in D8. The LPL500 weighs 23kg yet has a maximum lifting capacity of 1,000kg, while the LPL1000 offers a 2,000kg capacity and weighs only 46kg.

Spain - Cadac Consoles has announced that it will, for the first time, be publicly running two of the first UK production CM-J50 mixing consoles on its booth at ISE (7G100) through its new CM-RT12 optical MegaCOMMS network router. The CM-RT12 router, together with the CM-DF64 optical Dante bridge – also being shown for the first time – sees a significant expansion of the CM ecosystem.

The CM-RT12 router provides the CM-Series with enhanced network performance capabilities. Europe - Ayrton has announced the release of a newly upgraded Nando 502 Wash, the latest in Ayrton’s Multi Sources IP65 6 Series, which was launched last year and has proved a successful evolution of the NandoBeam range.

For this luminaire, Ayrton has developed “a unique concept of a revolutionary machined light guide that provides an optimum level of diffusion and a significant improvement in luminous flux”.

South Africa - The second series of The Masked Singer SA was one of the most successful music TV shows of 2024, broadcast on SABC, and featuring a production lighting design created by two of the country’s most talented LDs, Ryan Lombard and Joshua Cutts, based around the core components of 150 Robe moving lights.

All technical production was supplied by Blond Productions for the series, which was recorded at the Studios on Harley facility in Randburg, Greater Johannesburg.

Lombard and Cutts had previously worked together on Family Feud and SA’s Got Talent so it made sense for them to once again pool their imaginations for The Masked Singer SA.

Inspired by Joshua Tree hideouts and vintage roadside motels, the venue pairs its rustic charm with top-tier sound quality, solidifying its reputation as a must-visit country bar with nightly live music and DJ performances.

Lithuania - ProDJ, a technical service provider based near the Baltic coast in western Lithuania, delivered the audio for Arrival From Sweden – The Music of ABBA using Outline’s GTO C-12 and Mantas 28 loudspeaker systems.

A full-service provider specialising in television, festivals, opera, sporting events, and arena-scale concerts, ProDJ was selected by Medusa Concert (Sweden) to deliver the sound reinforcement for this tribute show. The performances featured original ABBA musicians alongside the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra.

USA - The latest roll-out of the Rock & Brews American bar/diner concept, specialising in classic rock, has opened at the Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Carter in northern Wisconsin. This follows its success at the nearby Casino Hotel, Milwaukee, where the Potawatomi Tribe first embraced the concept a year earlier.

Both operations feature a heavy deployment of Martin Audio products, installed by Green Bay-based partner, CCCP (Camera Corner). At both sites they were sub-contracted to carry out the installation by principal contractors, Dublin-based Audiotek, who supplied the visual media.

Theatres at Risk - RAAC infected theatres the Brunton, the Harlequin and Motherwell Concert Hall have been added to the Theatres Trust’s ‘Theatres at Risk Register’ as the list approaches two decades of advocating for building preservation. The three venues, two of which are facing imminent demolition following the discovery of potentially dangerous concrete (RAAC) in their infrastructures, are among five new additions to the register alongside Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre and Arts Centre and Cannock’s Prince of Wales Theatre. All five are local authority-owned, mid- to small-scale venues located outside of major cities.
