The Netherlands - It’s not every day that the chance comes up to light a large-scale musical spectacular starring over 100 majestic Friesland horses, geese, a dog, a falcon plus a few famous actors and singers. Marc Heinz relished the opportunity of working on De Stormruiter (The Stormrider) with a cast that truly ticked the ‘diverse’ box in every aspect.
Staged in the massive Saksen Hall at the WTC Expo in Leeuwarden, the city in the heart of Friesland, The Netherlands, the event was commissioned by the Royal Friesian Horse Studbook (Koninklijke Vereniging) and the Fader Horse Foundation and produced by Leeuwarden Friesland 2018 as part of the city and region’s year as European Capital of Culture.

Germany - Late last year, with the announcement of the Route66 Redundancy Manager, German network fibre giant BroaMan introduced the capability of full automatic redundancy switchover between devices, by harnessing the power of Optocore. This would enable switching between Route66 Video Router and Mux22 nodes - using smart mechanism to detect when one of the fiber links between the nodes is broken.
Now the same technology has been enabled in a very popular point-to-point system - between a pair of Mux22 devices. Mux22, which combines 3G SDI I/O and video sync, with Optocore and SANE digital audio networks, now also features full automatic redundancy. Thus, should one of the links fail, the system would automatically switch to the redundant path, enabling all video, audio and data channels to remain working. The switchover time is near instantaneous - implemented in just one

Spain - Pablo Alborán has been drawing record crowds for his Prometo Tour as it works its way through Spain and South America. Providing powerful visual support for the Grammy-nominated singer/musician’s show in Madrid is a dramatic lighting design by Chus Fernandez that features Chauvet Professional Nexus Aq 5x5 pixel mapped panels supplied by Fluge.
Working in close collaboration with Salvador Moreno on the design of the stage space, Fernandez specified 64 of the RGBW Nexus panels to use as the centerpiece of his lightshow.
