UK - Highlite International showcased several new products at PLASA Focus Leeds 2025, with the Showtec IP Pixelstrip 40 and Showtec Goliath light fixtures making their UK debuts, alongside the DAP TA amplifiers.

The new products were joined by existing favourites, including the Infinity Furion S402 Spot, the Furion W402 Wash and the Furion P602 Profile. DAP’s active PA system, Frigga, was there too. Several of Showgear’s innovative rigging solutions were also on display and Wentex’s popular FOH Drape case also made an appearance.

In addition to demonstrating some of Highlite’s newest and most popular products, Highlite’s UK team took the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and foster new relationships.

France - Montpellier Events is the management company for The Corum Congress Centre – Berlioz Opera, a major event complex located in Montpellier, in the south of France. The venue hosts over 300 professional events each year including congresses, exhibitions, corporate events and conventions, as well as live performances.

Equipped with three auditoriums – Berlioz Opera, Pasteur and Einstein – the venue has recently invested in Robe moving lights. In total, 46 x T1 Profiles, 20 x T1 Fresnels, 12 x Esprites and 10 x Fortes were supplied by Texen, a specialist in production technology integration and sales.

The 12 Esprites are permanently installed on the advanced catwalk of the 1995-capacity Berlioz Opera auditorium. They throw light over a distance of approximately 30m to the stage and are used for front and key lighting.

USA - Draped in sheer gold cloth with matching laurels on her head, and flanked by dancers in gladiator sandals, Muni Long evoked images of an ancient goddess for her Coachella debut. But even a Grammy-winning pop/R&B star can’t control the movement of the California sun.

Long began her show on the Mojave stage at 4pm, a little over three hours before the sun set, which essentially nixed the idea of using blackouts to add a dramatic effect to her exquisite stage presence. Not to worry, though, in stepped the star’s designer Jack Cannon, who came up with a way to use gradients of bright light instead of darkness to accentuate powerful moments on stage.

The theatrical show, known for its immersive, multimedia performances, has been using FreeSpeak Icon to support its highly coordinated live environment.

While not part of an official partnership or sponsorship, this trial is being independently led by Scott Dahl, head of audio for Blue Man Group Las Vegas, as his team explores new solutions for live production communications. Dahl has been overseeing the trial, utilising FreeSpeak Icon beltpacks in conjunction with an Arcadia Central Station, FreeSpeak II-19-TCVRs, and FreeSpeak II beltpacks.

Durgesh Sound and Lighting Systems, an event management services company that rents equipment for various applications across India, was eager to upgrade its PA inventory and elevate clients’ audio experience.

The Anya system from EAW was chosen. Durgesh Sound and Lighting purchased 16 Anya units and 12 SBX218 subwoofers, laying the groundwork for an audio system that promised sound quality for a wide range of live events. A second phase of this audio upgrade, including additional EAW products, is also in the pipeline.

Two Prodigy.MP, one Prodigy.MX and three Andiamo have been installed by the studio to provide conversion and redundancy solutions for its new control room upgrades in Hamburg. Studio Berlin had previously utilised an outside broadcast truck, but with an increasingly busy schedule and less opportunity for the control room to move, the decision was taken to replace the truck and create two new, permanently installed facilities.

The upgrades provide robust and reliable network conversions between the main Ravenna network and other audio network protocols. Three Andiamo units convert analogue signals to digital and vice-versa, while the Prodigy.MP enables all other conversions. The Prodigy.MX manages the audio matrix, including radio microphones and in-ear monitors.
